Watched 'The Boy in the striped pyjamas' the other night.

Very thought provoking and the build up to the ending when it dawns on you what's coming is gut wrenching.

A film everyone should see at least once.

Das Boot is a fantastic film.

The Mrs got to choose last night (I'm romantic like that) and we watched A street cat named Bob. I wasn't expecting much but really enjoyed it.

I'm just waiting for John Wick Chapter 2 to start.

I thought the first film was brilliant, so hopefully this one is too.

I watched moonlight without knowing much about it, there wasn't anything else at the cinema worth watching on my weekly cinema night out.

Turns out I enjoyed it more then I expected to and would recommend it to people.

Watched I, Daniel Blake, this evening. Very sad story, and a sad indictment of the British welfare system. I don't know why I watched tonight. As if I wasn't depressed enough lol.

As well as the excellent Moonlight which I have previously recommended on here last Friday I saw the film Fences starring Denzel Washington and the brilliant Viola Davis and that too I can recommend as it was also excellent.

Tonight I watched the Lego Batman movie and although it was funny it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be after me reading the reviews.
Mind you I sat there sneezing,snorting and with a runny nose with my Man Flu so maybe wasn't in the right frame of mind to watch a film.

Saw the review for Fences on film17 t'other night and totally agreed with them.
Brilliantly acted, great script but looked like, what it is, a stage play filmed. Not a winner for me.

I too recently watched Manchester by the sea.
I thought it was a great film, hard going in parts, and an interesting story behind the guy who directed it.
Casey Affleck with a stand out performance.
Another one of his, Gone baby gone is also a good watch.

Just finished watching The Great Wall.

Not a bad film to watch, some very good action scenes.
I'd watch it again, but not until its on TV.

Reminds me of another film and I cant remember what it is yet.
Possibly one of the Riddick films...

Queen of Katwa: a brilliant film about a little girl from a township in Uganda who rose above all the odds with the considerable commitment from her coach to become the best player at chess in her country. A true story to boot.

I watched Fences tonight.

I found it an odd film, 3 couples walked out so they clearly didn't like it.

I'm not really sure what to make of it.

Watched Logan and enjoyed it.

Saw Patriot Day which was about the bombings at the Boston Marathon in 2013

Don't mind saying that I got a bit choked up at the end when they were interviewing some of the real life survivors.

It's always personal taste isn't it Sidney but on the basis of humour in what we all probably consider a dire situation it sort of works, also a true story which I think adds to any films credibility.

Theeb:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3170902/?ref_=nv_sr_1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've also been watching Joseph Losey films, particularly his post U.S. films - say 1959 onwards:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0521334/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Those with Dirk Bogarde (e.g The Servant, or Accident) are a good bet. Mr Klein is also recommended.

Another extraordinary film is 'The Wages of Fear':

Logan - If you're a marvel / X men fan you need to see this film, beautifully crafted brutality some described it as to me and he's spot on.
