Matt Lowton

Post by bfc1984 » Sun Feb 12, 2017 5:19 pm

Many excellent performances Keane,Barton,Barnes etc, they was all excellent but thought he was absolutely outstanding got forward well and defended superbly.Just don't think he get's the credit he deserves sometimes.Feel like he was made a bit of a scapegoat for our poor away performances earlier in the season, but the whole team was a bit unbalanced until the last 3 or 4 away games,it looks like we have turned that corner now and we will win soon.Anyway MOM for me today and surely a hell of lot others.A credit to to us today keep it up.

MOM for me today aswell.

Thought he done reasonably well last season for us, but early on it looked like he was not quite good enough. Seems to be improving game on game though.

Not good enough for Villa, like Westwood. Bruce must have a hell of a side down there.

Totally agree. Lowton has been excellent in recent fixtures. His performances are improving with his increasing confidence. Pity he couldn't have capped it with the goal today, good run into the box well spotted by Barton.

That's as well as I've seen him play. Defensively his positional sense was excellent and he broke up play really effectively. Boyd has to take a lot of the credit on that flank, he's a great defensive shield.

Shame Lowton couldn't cap the display with a goal but he regularly gets into some great attacking areas.

A player who has improved massively as this season has gone on. Well done to him and our coaching staff. And on the other side of the defence, meanwhile, we have a brilliantly consistent and reliable left back.

I'm glad I'm not alone, I gave him mom today. His best game for us today, and he is definitely getting more consistent.

Agreed, turning into a hell of a player. Confidence playing a big part, what he was lacking at times later year.

Has to be a candidate for most improved player this season. No Trippier but fully worthy of his place and to think at the start of last season he couldn't get into the team.

If he'd have put his chance away in the first half, I'd be thinking about him the next time I mount the Mrs.

To be fair, it was an excellent save by Courtois

I think it took a lot of people to look at Flanagan to realise how good Lowton is, he's still young, apparently a bit a a joker amongst the squad.

I love them all.

Improved massively since he was dropped. Thought Ward was outstanding as well on the other flank.

Since December both Hendrick and Lowton have come on leaps and bounds, it's a shame Lowton still can't cross for sh*t but otherwise impressed

Matty was outstanding today, as he has been over the last 6 or 7 games. He really has stepped up his performances and deserves credit.

He was dropped? When?

Missed a game through suspension and then wasn't selected for the FA Cup games. Regular Premier League pick.

I was thinking the same when watching the game.

Has come along in leaps and bounds and looks a solid performer. Ward was also immense on the other side though.

Totally agree. Those around me all saying the same regarding Lowton being MOM. Played excellent today, and that chance if it had gone in would have called it off.

There are so many positive things you can say about Sean Dyche as a manager - but the fact that players continuously improve under his charge is hugely to his credit. Lowton didn't look PL quality at the start of the season - he certainly did today.

My MOM today.
It's bizzare how so many people who attend the same game as me are saying he is our weak link and keeps giving the ball away.

Watch the bloody game, he was outstanding today!

I hold my hands up. I told my cousin that Lowton was our weak link after the Swansea game. I have been proved wrong repeatedly recently.
