1. Stephen Ward
2. Tom Heaton
3. Michael Keane
To be honest it could be one of about half a dozen and nobody could say any of them wouldn't deserve it.

I was going to go for Ward but then thought who has made the biggest impact on the way we play and made it the most difficult for the opposition.
Ashley Barnes for me

At this point I think it has to be one of the back 5 since the midfield and front lads have been chopped and changed a bit. They've all performed brilliantly though whenever they've had the shirt.
Stephen Ward edges it for me, he's hardly put a foot wrong all season.

Keane for me. We all know he's class and so expect him to perform that way. When he does (regularly) he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

Re: Player of the season so far...
Got to be Keane.
He makes less tackles, interceptions, fouls and clearances than Mee (who I would vote 2nd, Heaton 3rd) - he does though have more attempts on goal at the other end and blocks at our end.
I interpret that as being someone who carries out his work in an incredibly calm and accomplished way, rarely dramatic just highly effective. Our other defenders are that little bit more last gasp in some of their duties and at times look to be hanging on. Not Keane.
Ward has done well, I like him a lot, but seeing as we were about to replace him with Robertson it suggests he is not in the Keane class.

Re: Player of the season so far...
Heaton for me his saves at southampton and man utd alone were oustanding. But he has captained the favourites for the drop to seeming mid table safety, kept a number of clean sheets, made some truly world class saves, become a regular international and basically given confidence to all in front of him which can only enhance their performance. The defence arent treading on eggshells. How else would we stop chelsea shooting from secen minutes. Compare that to last time we played them.
His saves at old trafford, southampton and watford were truly world class.

MK will probably turn out to be the most valuable player BFC has ever had.
(Going off the fifty mil citeh paid for the distinctly average John Stones)
Hope we don't find out, though, of course.

Ward, but you could equally make a case for Keane and Heaton, and if his form continues like it has been, Hendrick

Re: Player of the season so far...
Almost impossible to choose between Ward (one of my favourites), Heaton, Keane and Mee. All have played out of their skins and an extremely good case could easily be made for any of them.
However, I would currently vote for Heaton as I think he is the organiser of the defensive unit in addition to pulling off some fantastic saves such as the one from Vardy against Leicester the other week.

Keane. By a mile. The Heaton, then Hendrick. Barton would be possibly be pushing Keane if he hadn't swanned off to Scotland for the first half of the season.
Re: Player of the season so far...
Anyone of Keane,Mee or Ward. All delivering good performances on a consistent basis.

Aye, Keane for me too.
Agree with Goody1975 though that there many deserving candidates which makes you realise just what a brilliant season it's been thus far.

To be honest you could have a case for any one of the 1st team regulars.
Every one of them has been outstanding so far,and long may it continue.

1) Keane
2) Heaton
3) Ward
A close call between Keane and Heaton but as things stand Keane just about edges it by the closest of margins.

Re: Player of the season so far...
Tough one, Keane, Heaton, Hendrick, Ward, Barton, Barnes and, possibly, for all the graft and often unrecognised contribution he always puts in, Boyd. He ran himself to a standstill on Sunday.
Defour and Gudmundsson wouldn't have been far off but for injuries. Happy days indeed.

Keane, Heaton or Hendrick so far for me. If Joey is allowed another 13 games he'll be well in the frame.

Keane
Heaton
Ward
I've been proven wrong where Ward is concerned this season. I didn't think he'd be able to step it up to the PL but he's been nothing short of magnificent, especially since the start of December.

Re: Player of the season so far...
I think Keane, Ward then Heaton have been above the rest.
If Hendrick had started like the player he now is (silly red card aside), he'd be up there too.
From a purely financial point of view, Keane should sweep the awards which can only inflate his already hefty price tag for the summer!!

Re: Player of the season so far...
Keane for me. Mee has played very well but he's made a number of mistakes that should discount him.
Hendrick has steadily got better and better whilst Ward has been really consistent.
Had he been here all season, I suspect that Joey would have won it again.

Same three names keep coming up and I'm no different.
1. Tom Heaton.
2. Stephen Ward. I've only placed him above Keane because so many wrote him off as substandard.

Re: Player of the season so far...
The few mistakes across the team are understandable given the standard of football we are competing at but they have all contributed to the cause.
The midfield isn't needed, we play a long ball everytime we gain posession so surely they just run around looky busy so I'll bypass them all just like the ball apparently
Bizzare that nearly all of them have scored though
I would say Tom Heaton has won us a few points with his brilliant reading of the game, anticipation, superb reflexes and good hands (feet, knees, head et al).
Michael Keane is truly coming of age, Stephen Ward has been sensational along with Ben Mee and Matt Lowton has settled down and is playing well.
Ash Barnes is such a workhorse, Andre is selfless as is Sam and I'm so pleased they have all produced matchwinning performances.
If I had to give it one player I would struggle so I nominate the whole squad!

Over the season, Keane.
Over the last few games, Joey. Genuinely surprised how good he's been 2nd time round.
Lowton must be the most improved.

Another one for Heaton. Closely followed by Keane.
Hendrick the most improved player, didnt think he was good enough after his first few games.
Defour probably our best player and as said above, Barton may well of been our player of the season had he not had a funny turn and thought it was a goood idea to leave us last summer.

So how many think Barton is giving it a bit extra because he feels he owes us for accepting his decision in the summer and then welcoming him back without any questions/animosity when it didn't work out for him (recognising that he has always been very good for us anyway)

To have any sort of success as a team you need a good keeper. We're lucky we've got a great keeper. Tom Heaton player of the year so far and I can't see it changing. Old Trafford anyone.
