Todmorden Road and then to Burnley Wood finishing school for young sophisticated gentlemen. Written off by selection at the age of 11 but went on to prove the system wrong.

Primary Padiham Council
Secondary C.R.G.S.

What a lousy football education. If you weren't from the council estate gang then you didn't count at football. At C.R.G.S. is was regimented riga mortis B.R.F.C. Frankenstein football, no wonder they always lost.

I was always a free spirit so I missed out on the 'pro' ladder of all the saddos who thought they would make it.

I spoke to Andy Stenton recently, who would have been that year, he lived on Todmorden Road..
We chased a few Eggs together " back in the day "... hopefully meeting up for a lunch in October !!

Richard Ratcliffe is still local, but never heard anything of Tom Kelly, who was certainly ginger/red haired since we left. Dave " Pinkie " Walker was another Claret of the 1982 leavers...
