Isn't Ashington from the same part of the 'world' as Lee Clark ie Geordie land so he can understand the accent/dialect?

I'd say the username Ashington might be a clue to where he lives :D

Travelled up to Newcastle from London by plane seated next to Clark one Saturday night when he played for Fulham. An interesting guy to chat to, very much a family man. Has had a good all-round career making the most of his abilities.

They certainly were --as was our own Jimmy Adamson and Billy Gray.
I am not from Ashington, however, believe me, when you have been associated with the area for over 50 years you do get to understand what they are saying --particularly when you have played and refereed football amongst them! ;)

I have a work college who covers Scotland as a rep for company i work for.

His son is on the books at Kilmarnock, Clark and his 'bezzy' mates on his backroom staff were not well like up there.

I believe everyone is happy he left for Bury.
