Never played adult football in any of the Burnley leagues - played Saturday football for Tod Borough in the West Lancs League (away games in Cumbria!), and then played for a few teams over in the Leeds Sunday Leagues - first off with Horsforth Rangers, then Waterside (with some familiar CM/UTC names), and lastly with the Acorn in Bramley.

I would love to be playing again, but I've played 2 games in the last 2 years after a nasty illness which had me in hospital for a few weeks, and I've got a baby on the way, so I think that's my weekend football buggered.

Not played in Burnley leagues as from Preston but played for Squires Gate, Blackpool M and Haslingden in the NW Counties.

Going far down as Stoke and up to Barrow was no fun.

When I signed for Haslingden they were top of the league and I was an unused sub for the first 6 games, I was frustrated but got £30 a game just for running up and down the line, a fortune at the time!

We had a striker called Jimmy Clarke who could have easily played league football.

Very happy days, I drove past Ewood Bridge not that long ago and was shocked to see the state of it, Ray Deakin signed for us the following season and it was a pleasure to be the recipient of a few of his 'whoosh' balls.

Apologies for rambling.

Played in the nets for the Falcon Inn - Burnley & District Sunday League (late 80's).

We were pants and, therefore, I was kept quite busy. Jay's dad, Kiko, smashed a few past me when he played for The Bridge.

Very sad to see the state of Ewood Bridge

Remember when Haslingden Football Club was first set up in the early 70's. My brother was very much involved in it. Played and then on the committee side before transferring his allegiance to his 'real love'. Haslingden St Mary's. Some epic games in those early days down at Ewood Bridge especially involving Colne Dynamoes. Ewood Bridge has been in that state now for many years but Has. St. Mary's still going strong and has been the only football club in the town for a long time now.

Was a 'keeper for a few years for The coal clough casuals in the mid 90's. Life for a 'keeper in the burnley and district Sunday league 3rd division was tough. My glass back saved me from getting sacked for turning up to work with my nose spread across my face and my knees in a bag, having had them literally kicked off by some padiham thick neck who was still ******.

Fun times though

Hey just a minute -- I won't qualify for another few months :) and then it would be a heck of a journey there and back each game, so I would have to turn down any bid for my signature. .

Crown Athletic (Rose and Crown) also Burnley Olympic, which was a guise for The General Havelock, as several players were barred and had to wait outside - seriously though, the team existed first but used to meet there.

Dugdale United on Saturday. Three consecutive promotions to premier division, then we died a bit.

Cricketers on Sunday.

Keighley Green. Saturday afternoon league. Manager was Brian (Helmut Shoen) Bennett. The Singleton brothers and the Goaghan brothers played a big part.

The yearly 'club trip' was always a bit of a riot and sometimes quite dangerous (coach driver drunk and fell asleep at the wheel). Least drunk of us had to take over and drive home from Blackpool. It was similar to that classic episode of only fools and horses where they had a day trip to Brighton.

Happy days.
