Still holds 100 shares in the club according to the spreadsheet posted on the board this morning.

He is British but his business was based in the US. He was vice chairman under BK but had to resign when he became bankrupt. I think he worked very hard for the club in the early 90's

back in the late 90's the local press ran an article virtually suggesting he could be our saviour, our very own jack walker figure, with access to gazillions of pounds/dollars. Never quite worked out like that, but I'm sure he meant well.

Brendan Flood suffered with the crash and bowed out briefly as a director because of his financial state not quite bankrupt, but he has recovered somewhat and is now back as director. Not sure of any one else who had to step down from directorshp other than Ray

If I remember Michael Knighton was about to buy Manchester United for £10m, but it fell through at the last minute because he couldn't get the finance in place. Missed out on the greatest sporting bargain of all time - hard to believe now.

Ingleby's interest seemed to trigger off talk of takeovers and the idea that we could be an option for outside interest for someone with no connection to Burnley and was (relatively) quickly followed by the takeover from Barry Kilby and our progress to where we are now.

I think the Ingelby factor is more of a red herring. It was Kilby who provided the spur to improve us.

Ingleby was a serious buyer but was outgunned by Barry Kilby. Joined forces though and Mr K made a big thing about Mr I working miracles, behind the scenes, when the finances were pear shaped.

I'm very grateful for Ingelby because I think the pressure he wrought made Teasdale sell up.

However, I could not ever imagine us making the strides forward we did under Kilby under a potential Ingelby chairmanship.

I'm sure they were both very, very wealthy men back then in the 90s but I think that only one has proved to be an excellent steward of a successful football club.

Ingleby more interested in making money out of the club whist Barry had and has a 100% desire for the club to be successful on and off the field. Also if it had not been for that dreadful ITV digital/Granada financial crash Barry would have been even more successful then he was.

As an aside from memory Barry was worth something like 20 million when he sold his controlling interest in Europrint, all in my humble opinion of course.

I think you're thinking of Ron Noades who was a serial chairman/director of football clubs. He made himself manager at Brentford and actually won a promotion before firing himself.

No he's right... Knighton went on to get a controlling interest in Carlisle United and made himself manager.... it didn't go well.
