Re: Haye v Bellew
I would dearly love Haye to get knocked out, but on paper at least he's a class above Bellew.
Only hope for Bellew is that Hayes not fought anyone of note for years - If he can weather 3/4 rounds he's got a chance. Bellew has the power to knock him out, and I'd love to see it.

About paying or it was boring?
I'm watching it on FB, some helpful person is streaming it.
It wasn't really exciting for the first few rounds.

Haye said "my knee" at one point to his corner - the commentators said he has ruptured his Achilles -0. Tomorrows news will tell!

Fair play to Haye for not mentioning the fact his leg was goosed in the post fight interview. It clearly was, he could hardly stand.

Even Bellew was commenting on it but Haye said that wasn't the reason.

No, Bellew would get trounced over 12 rounds based on that evidence. He can't carry that weight.

Mercenaries the both of them; in it for the PPV, but how the winner can be so proud when Haye was half dead for half the fight kind of sums it up; he didnt really beat him; it was a complete mismatch for half the fight; Haye only had one leg to stand on; he should get another crack at him.

Re: Haye v Bellew
Great fight/ brawl. It was won before. All the abuse hurt Hayes ego whereas Bellew is from the streets and took it better. Haye was far too wild early on. His unorthodox stances won't have helped putting extra strain on his legs causing the injury.

They'd have a nerve to put that on Box Office.
They'd need to create some controversy first.

Bellew beat what was tantamount to a cripple.
Well done, give out the rulers.

Re: Haye v Bellew
Thought Haye would be too powerful for him and but for the injury I think he would have knocked him out.
Tony Bellew is more than a decent fighter - but not at this weight. Its a sad reflection on boxing that he had to eat burgers for the last 12 months to get a more lucrative fight.
This fight was not even for a title - but Hearn and the other cronies all knew it would bring in the viewers and revenue.
Boxing has gone downhill so much in the last 10 or 15 years that this is what happens.
At least Bellew was sensible enough to say after the fight that Joshua is too big and strong for him.
Next its Khan v Pacman.....and Pacman is only doing this for the money because he knows it will be of big interest in Britain. Again another sad reflection and Khan has been a disgrace in the way he has avoided Kell Brook. He might even beat an over the hill Pacman who does not really seem to care that much these days.
These boxers try their best to all avoid each other when they are at their peak and with so many versions of the world title in each division the promoters all keep them apart....and then when they are on their last legs they bring them back.
Don`t be surprised if they dig Ali up to see if he can do his rope a dope for one round against Mike "bankrupt again" Tyson.

Hayes gone, his timing was horrible.
Bit of a shame as Haye was an elite fighter many moons ago.

Re: Haye v Bellew
It was an entertaining fight but for the wrong reasons. The post-fight interviews proved how much the fighters are mugging off the paying public by orchestrating a tiresome slanging match to increase box office sales.

That's what I was thinking the other night when I watched Life Sports Stories with Barry McGuigan.
The fight the whole boxing world wanted was McGuigan v Azumah Nelson..

Re: Haye v Bellew
Hayes timing was miles off and his stance was strannge,no feet movement. The reflexes were still there to some extent. The first couple of rounds were woeful from both guys.
The David Haye from 5 years ago would have anihilated Bellew.
Bellew didn't do much at all and struggled to finish off a crippled stationary target.
I hope this is the last we see of Haye in the ring, the mind is there but the body isn't. Also I wouldn't like to see Bellew at HW again either, even for a comedy bout against the Alabama windmiller.

Re: Haye v Bellew
Are you lot seriously buying the injury claim yet again? He did it a few years ago blaming his little toe. The guy is an excuse maker. That said i think bellew has had the fight of his life and it's his peak

Re: Haye v Bellew
Haye was clearly injured in round 6. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous. You don't fake injuries and keep up an act like that when a 15 stone plus man is trying to flatten you.

Re: Haye v Bellew
Credit to Bellew he did what he had to do,but remarkable bravery from Haye to stay in the fight after the injury, he was a sitting duck for 5 rounds, rendered him pretty immobile and unable to either use his feet or get any proper balance.Haye was simply exhausted after the rearguard. It did even the fight out though but Bellew surely now drops back down a weight. As for Haye injuries seem to have taken there toll.
