And Slade is looking for his fourth job in under a year - ended last season as Cardiff manager, lost that, went to Charlton, lost that, went to Coventry and sacked again.

When we were in the old third division and they beat us at Highfield Rd in the FA cup Strachen manager and their fans took great delight in singing to us we'll never play you again how right they were.

Antonio Conte couldn't save Coventry. I feel sorry for all their supporters. God knows where they will be playing home games next season.

They weren't singing it a year later when Taylor and Little gave us one of our most complete away wins in years.

If Coventry City were a dog they would be put down for their own sake. Just think how jealous we were of them and their (Paul Fletcher inspired) shiny new stadium seen as the only answer to the dilapidated Highfield Road. They were the club West Brom became.... year after year in the top flight never world beaters but always seemingly comfortable.

Just shows how devastating a period of mis-management can be. We should never take our current miracle for granted.

Last time I was at Coventry was a dreadful afternoon. A 2-0 defeat and no way back for Brian Laws.

Always had a soft spot for Coventry and know a few of their fans. What's happened to their club over the last few years is appalling, and all they can do is sit and watch things go from bad to worse.

Would love to see them back in the Championship but it looks as though liquidation is more likely at this point.

Haven't they got a Wembley Final coming up against Oxford in the Checkatrade Cup or whatever it's called?

"And Slade is looking for his fourth job in under a year - ended last season as Cardiff manager, lost that, went to Charlton, lost that, went to Coventry and sacked again."

Are there no rules limiting managers to a certain number of different clubs in a year? :)

I think the Glen Little goal Herts mentions at post 12 was the one where the ref mistakenly moved
the ball into the penalty box under the old ten yard dissent rule, rather than stopping at the edge of the box.

Paul Cook tapped it to GL who smacked it in. Anyone remember that? 2001was it?

Agree that CC moving from Highfield Road seems to be when they started to descend.

People keep referencing Slade, they were from Walsall and Wolverhampton.
Coventry's claim to fame were the 2- Tone label - The Specials and The Selecter.

It was indeed. I was in the Directors Box with a business associate who is a Cov fan. I was screaming for Cook to roll the ball to Super Glen, he duly obliged and we made it 2-0.
