Bottom threes fixtures

Post by Walnutwillie » Sun Mar 05, 2017 8:43 pm

Looked at fixtures for middlesboro , hull, Sunderland and I doubt any of them will get more than 10 points each

Boro's fixtures look horrendous in particular.

Toughest set of fixtures has got to be Palace's.

The Geordie's are currently frothing at the mouth with excitement at the possibility of them going up and Sunderland, Boro and Hull all going down.

That'd make us their local derby, no?

I really hope they don't. Leeds - Huddersfield playoff final with Hudders winning would be nice.

Tough call really.

If Leeds come up then theres the real possibility they get relegated again and, let's be honest, that would be hilarious.

Although seeing them lose on TV in the Play-offs to their neighbours would also be funny.

I couldn't cope with another NorthEast side trying to be our rivals.

Lets hope the southerners go down.

Weakest clubs to come up would be best for us.

Don't see how considering they struggled against a side who'd only taken 1 point away so far.

Why have some of them got their games postponed already?

For this weekend I'm referring too.

Hull look the biggest threat out of the current bottom 3.

I would say we need a maximum of 5 points.

Having looked at those fixtures, I reckon we need 4-5 points.

Boro' seem to have the most difficult remaining fixtures and will need to get results/wins
at Hull, Swansea and Bournemouth away in addition to wins at home against Sunderland, ourselves
and Southampton to stand any chance.
So can't see them getting much more than 12-14 points from those and even if they do it will mean
getting points from others down there.
So a max. of 36 points for them.

Hull will no doubt target home wins against Swansea, West Ham, Boro', Watford and Sunderland
and hope for results away at Stoke and Palace. That's a tall order so again 16/17 points seems
close to a max. for them.
So 36/37 for them.

Sunderland will need to beat us, West Ham, Bournemouth and Swansea at home
in addition to picking up at least 4 points away. Again a tall order so can't see them picking up more than
16/17 points which would take them up to 36 points.

It's not impossible that one of those will do better than suggested but it might be at the expense of others
down there - including Palace.

Even if all that comes to fruition then we would probably need 6, possibly 7 points max. to be safe.
Two wins and a draw. 37/38 points in total

Doesn't sound that difficult, does it?
