Dyche has a big problem.
Boring long hoofball comes back into play after scoring a goal.
Clearly there is a mental issue affecting players away from home - how it could affect them all the same would only be answered by looking at the gaffer.
His tactics are worked out too easily, he has no plan B and we're essentially playing the same team from 2 years ago because his transfers haven't worked out. They couldn't handle it then, they definitely can't handle it now.
I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up back in the Champ after this season. Not now.

Re: Dyche has a big problem.
There are long passages of play where we keep the ball - lovely stuff but there is no penetration so we get frustrated and go long - if we could get some penetration by playing passing football we'd do it - there was a lovely passage of about 20 passes - then Mee I think kicked it out - we try to force it.

did you see our first goal today ?
did you see all the pressure Liverpool put on us with that 100 million pound midfield versus our free transfer from Huddersfield, free transfer from Rangers (as such) and two players that cost 13 million quid ?
Did I miss anything ?

Can u put ur powers of seeing into the future to good use and send me next weeks euromillions numbers pls?

We have a flow chart to our away games. And every step of it was followed today.
It's the same OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.
Yet you think we had a good day today... you don't have claret tinted glasses, you've had the ******* claret laser eye surgery!
And whether it's Liverpool or Sunderland... they're all the same. If we "aren't" supposed to win against Man Utd, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, West Brom, Stoke, Leicester... just who the hell ARE we supposed to beat?

I'd say first ten minutes we played some decent football but, unfortunately, soon reverted to hoofing it and surrendering pretty much all possession. Same old, same old.

I'm guessing when we go there, we'll have put in a great performance there too and just been unlucky... again
Re: Dyche has a big problem.
I thing the problem is just lack of quality in depth at times. If we stay up and don't address this issue then this is the time to question the club.

Re: Dyche has a big problem.
I'm with you on this one. I don't see a win against anybody now, so we're relying on scraping draws and hoping we sort things out in the summer with 2-3 new signings. People assume we're going to beat Sunderland - that won't happen. We'll hopefully grab some draws in our remaining games, but it's the matches where we think we'll pick up points - where we don't.starting_11 wrote:I'm guessing when we go there, we'll have put in a great performance there too and just been unlucky... again

Burnley were very unlucky today. Deserved more than they got. Away at Liverpool.
Process all the above, and if you still think there are more negatives than positives, then youre an awfully gloomy person.

lol that would require certain individuals to understand what the problem is , for that they would need to have a degree of understanding around tactics relative merits of player and there strengths , and not think because they play fifa 16 they know more than real football managers....
it becomes a bit like explaining trying to explain fermats theorem to someone who is not a mathematician but because they can add 2+2 together think they understand everything ...its simples

Dyche has a big problem allright; we are treading on very thin ice.
We have to stop patting ourselves on the back for losing, no matter how close these defeats may seem.

I'm an awfully gloomy person. Didn't think we did enough second half, was somewhat predictable in the end.
Re: Dyche has a big problem.
This not being able to win away is turning into a thing, which is concerning.
I don't give a toss if the performance was good, or that we were unlucky. We've gotten to the stage where we NEED a win. Anyhow.
Sunderland away is going to be the real indicator whether we have the mindset and belief that we can go away from home and get three points. Lose, and quite rightly questions need to be asked.
It's been a good season, and we should still stay up, but there has to be a change of approach from Dyche for next season, and the humility to learn from this.

Re: Dyche has a big problem.
No problems at all great performance just that final ball into the box that is lacking
Wards crossing is great but lowtons needs to improve as we had players in the box or running in several times but he hits it too long or out of play
Maybe a week of crossing drills is in order we have the training facilities for it now

Re: Dyche has a big problem.
we're not unlucky we are deserving to lose, but some performances are much better than others - WBA, Southampton, Leicester, West Ham away were all really bad. Hull away we should have won, Swansea away was bad, Liverpool away we played well - for me it's the players making individual mistakes that is the problem. We play nice passing football - but it's usually sideways or backwards - when we're going forward it's usually direct.
Re: Dyche has a big problem.
What did everyone expect?
I know I expected the usual 0 points and us to gift them a couple of poor goals probably in stoppage time, so today hasn't come as a surprise to me.

To be fair, Sid, there's plenty of chairmen who would have sacked a manager for being totally unable to conjure up one single away win by the middle of March.Sidney1st wrote:IF we win away to someone will you be happy or on here whining?

Re: Dyche has a big problem.
This also must mean that we've not been lucky at home and that Sean Dyche has been brilliant at home with amazing tactics.
We all know we've had a lot of luck at home and not much luck away from home - but you make your own luck - so we get what we deserve at home and away. Top 5 team at home -bottom of the league team away from home. - The answer it's not the players of the manager at fault but our fans.
We're the worst away fans in the league.

Ofc I will be happy. Who wouldn't. The problem is much deeper than a simple away win. But even that seems so far off at the moment.Sidney1st wrote:IF we win away to someone will you be happy or on here whining?
As I said... the flow chart has been written and it has been followed exactly today as every other away game.
Play all of our away games simultaneously on different TV's and they'd all show the same problems emerging at similar times.
I'd rather we found a cure for our problems to enable us to actually play an away game effectively enough to win.
Re: Dyche has a big problem.
We actually played the ball from the back second half and looked comfortable doing so .

Re: Dyche has a big problem.
One big problem we have is down our right hand side. Three goals have come from that side due to players not closing the crosser down, also a number of chances are created from this area. We all know this will not be addressed for the Sunderland game. The Boyd/Lowton axis doesn't work in tandem defensively
