Thailand is quite a nice place .There are many places of interest to visit . The quality of food served are not so palatable .In places it is dirty and smell bad .it is more recognised for its harem .Clothings are cheap . They are tailored to your size within hours

Got friends over there so a few nights in Bangkok, over to Pattaya for a few more nights in a villa then on to Ko Samet. Can you recommend anywhere good for diving in those areas?ClaretDiver wrote:Sorry to threadjack, where in Thailand are you going Bertie?

Re: To Ighten Claret
To be honest Bertie, the 3 places you are going are not really known for their diving. You can dive out of Pattaya but I would not trust the dive shops for safety as far as I could sink them.... If you are a diver and want to do some then a little further up you have Koh Chang....much better!!!Bertiebeehead wrote:Got friends over there so a few nights in Bangkok, over to Pattaya for a few more nights in a villa then on to Ko Samet. Claret Diver
I stayed at the Maritim (north west of the island) a couple of times and where I first dived. There's a couple of wrecks which were good and the staff there were excellent.Safety was good. The kit may be a bit basic and may not be up to your own standards but I always felt safe. Good for beginners and if the Mrs is still looking for some easy diving then it would probably suit. They have a website to check.
The east coast is a lot choppier.
Definitely meet up with DavemanU, lovely chap.

Re: To Ighten Claret
there are many diving spots in our area .While going to ILE AUX CERFS in a boat you continue your journey to GRSE waterfalls . There are many local boys diving under the thunderous applauses of tourists
