Not good news.
Haven't won a game or scored a goal in Prem this year. They'll struggle to be worse under the next manager.
Better for every club not yet safe that he'd stayed in charge.

Re: Karanka gone
Assistant head coach Steve Agnew will take control of the first team.
So finally Kawankers been potted we will have a different game on now at the Riverside next month but they need to learn how to score first

Re: Karanka gone
All of a sudden our away trip to Boro has a different feel. I fancied a repeat of the 1-0 at the Turf earlier in the season. Not sure now. They have talented players but Karanka didn't know how to use them. If they bring in a Manager with some pedigree they could get out of trouble.

Re: Karanka gone
Its a tough job to take over this late to be honest.
They might be struggling to get anyone to do it who would have a realistic chance (Wolves a few years ago springs to mind)

Think about it though, all these clubs with new managers can't all survive. It's not possible.FactualFrank wrote:This. Not good news for us at all
If Boro go on a good run it means Hull or Swansea, or both are deep in the mire. Likewise Palace or Leicester.

Re: Karanka gone
I saw a report that he had a training ground bust up with Stuart Downing the other day and presume that has something to do with it. He clearly has a screw loose but it just seems like there is a lot of discontent behind the scenes between the players. Hopefully there will be a few factions between different groups of players that will be hard for a new manager to sort out and the place will go into melt down.
Re: Karanka gone
It's possible for Sunderland, Bournemouth and Burnley to go down, none of which have appointed a new manager since the summer.Spijed wrote:Think about it though, all these clubs with new managers can't all survive. It's not possible.

Their fixtures look very tough. At least Hull, Swansea & Boro will be taking points off each other.

Re: Karanka gone
5 pts from their first 3 games when we'd hardly signed anyone. That had one or two on here complaining.
I wonder if Agnew will pick Bamford.

Sounds like a return for McLaren. They have the taste for 'foreign' management. He has an accent!

Re: Karanka gone
Looking at Boro's remaining games it would seem that they have to win the games against us, Swansea and Hull or their pretty much relying on snookers. Quite a tall order as Swansea and Hull are both away and they both seem to have found a little bit of momentum.

Re: Karanka gone
I already have thought about is. I don't think him leaving is good news for us. We to pick up another 4-5 points from somewhere and Boro(a) was a game I thought we'd pick them up. It'll now no doubt be a harder fixture. I'm thinking more of us picking up enough points, than continuously hoping everybody belows us keep losing. 31 won't keep us up.Spijed wrote:Think about it though, all these clubs with new managers can't all survive. Re: Karanka gone
Sorry - would also include Bournemouth away as 'winnable'. But - again - its away.
Re: Karanka gone
They've also got the postponed match against Sunderland to add to that list. Out of their remaining 11 games 5 are against teams currently in the top six. If you write those off they have to win the other six to get to 40 points. A tough ask!!Spijed wrote:Their fixtures look very tough. This always happens to us. All the clubs that are beneath us and are failing to record any decent results sack their manager and when the new fella comes in, they experience a 'bounce' and uplift in form - usually when they play us soon after. This one has 'inevitable' stamped all over it.

What about our home form though? As for the points required, how many do you think we need as everyone below us can't keep winning?FactualFrank wrote:I already have thought about is. Boro have Swansea & Hull in their next two away games. A defeat for any of those clubs will be a disaster.

Nothing has "happened to us." Another football team has lost their manager. It's got nothing to do with Burnley - it has no impact on our team. We haven't "lost our manager" because Sean Dyche is a great manager, we are on 31 points and have got 10 games left to get some more. Burnley will be playing Premier League football again next season.

Re: Karanka gone
Downing is on very big money as was Rhodes, both signed by Gibson against Karanka's wishes so no surprise he didn't pick them. Not sure who gets the glory for Bamford signing, a pity Karanka didn't stay another month though.

They've hit the panic button. Can't expect all of these teams to start winning every game when they sack a manager. Boro will still go down.
