At the time i thought- Class. I think if we'd have made it 2-3 they would have just gone down and bagged a couple more in that game.

The Chelsea one was the one that jumped stright into my head. It was an amazing ball, and great 1 touch finish.

Recall Derby scoring a great individual strike against us last season. Butterfield I think at the time, but the rest of the game was far more memorable...

Peter Osgood ont'Turf early 60s. Carried the ball from the edge of his own area and beat 6 or 7 players before scoring from the edge of our area.
I do think the recent Chelsea goal was pure class also.

Jamie Redknapp scored a lovely goal against us for Liverpool at the Turf in a 4-1 defeat (I think) in a cup game.

Gerrard's 2 goals on the Turf when they beat us 4-0 in our first season in Premier League weren't too shabby.

I remember Darren Bents goal for Ipswich - he was on fire that day.

Chelsea goal with Fabregas pass probably still the best I have seen personally though.

Can't remember specifics. However 1 goal always sticks in my head. Away to Northampton Town 91-92 Championship season. Ball outside the area headed down for a Northampton player to volley it into the roof of the net.

Clough was manager for their first title in 1971-72. Peter Taylor was the manager in 1974-75, the year of the second title.

My vote for fiercest shot goes to John Hollins for Chelsea in the last minute at the Turf in the late 60s, 70ish. He hit it so hard from outside the box that Peter Mellor didn't move, even though the ball was fairly close to his shoulder. The home crowd even applauded it. Mind you, it was the last minute, and we were 3-0 up.

Peter Taylor didn't become Derby manager until late 1982 when he left Forest.

Dave Mackay was manager when they won the league in 1975.

Paul Evans chipping Crichton from 40 yards in a 2-2 with Brentford, incredible piece of opportunism.

Jepson for Bury at Gigg Lane in a 1-0 defeat. Very impressive strike, Jepo knew where the goals where at that level.

Burnley 1 York 2 in a dire game. It dropped for one of their lads in stoppage time and without thinking I just said 'hit that' and it flew in.
First time I've applauded an opponents goal whilst smiling. It was the highlight of the game by a mile.

You're right. Weird how time plays tricks with the memory. I was certain Taylor had been manager.

All three goals were screamers.

Modric was a decent goal for Spurs in the 4-2 win.

I'm sorry but I always wear claret tinted glasses when I watch Burnley so have never actually seen a ' good' goal scored against us never mind a best one , all opposition goals have been either (a) offside, (b) handball, (c) a foul, (d) never a penalty, (e) a good 10 minutes after the final whistle should have blown
