Joey Barton Hearing still not confirmed - Thanks FA
Can't believe how long it takes to organise one of these things - but I have to thank the FA for taking so long, it is really helping us while players are recovering from injury

not news just we have heard nothing about it - after thinking that Swansea could be his last game before a lengthy ban - it seems to take a remarkably long time to search through a few diary's - unless it has all been scheduled but no one has released the information to the public domain - still we have to assume he is available for at least the next 3 games

They had probably forgotten all about it and now you''ve gone and reminded themQuicknick wrote:Good news.

I do have my suspicions that Joey has come to an agreement with the FA.
My theory is that knowing he will serve a lengthy ban, he has requested to play either the season out or a set number of matches to finish off his career. Then in the knowledge of an impending lengthy spell that he will be without game time he will allow the FA to serve him with a huge ban in turn forcing him into an early retirement, this will prove a point that the FA are serious about punishments and work in favour of both Joey and the FA.
I do not think anyone will share my views, but there must be a reason why it has taken so long.

There is, the FA couldn't organise a p1ss up in a brewery!MarkGreen wrote: I do not think anyone will share my views, but there must be a reason why it has taken so long.

It is entirely possible that this will be his last in the UK. He could always go overseas to complete his football journey.

He'd have to serve a ban though Ian wherever he went.

The bloke running the hearing was ill. Got rearranged which will no doubt be before the season is out.
Nobody has a clue re: length of ban as nobody knows what offence he's actually committed.

Once the investigator is well then the committee, the F.A.'s lawyers and Joey's lawyers have to put diaries together to find a convenient date.
Re: Joey Barton Hearing still not confirmed - Thanks FA
I heard a rumour that a lot of agents/clubs have made representations that a harsh ban etc will open a can of worms due to the fact it is so common amongst players, that a lot of players, including high profile players will be banned. Joey tip of the ice berg apparently.

I think bfcjg has it.
I'm sure if you had a right good root through enough footballer's twitter accounts you'd find enough evidence to show that Joey isn't a standalone maverick with his penchant for a bet on the footy. And I'd like to think that, having been burnt once this season via Twitter, that someone at our club could find enough historical evidence to suggest some of our competitor's players may well also have been at it.
I'm sure it'll all come out.

I posted on another Joey thread that I had read a comment from Joey after the recent postponement, and he was quite confident that he would now see the season out.
