I'd have to agree with that. Not really my cup of tea, but just to see them as a band in their pomp would have been great. Think it was Tony that said he was at the Live Aid concert - I was too young at the time, but I'd have loved to have been at that.

Sex Pistols.

Queen supporting Mott the Hoople what a gig that must have been.

For me though it would have to be Bowie on the Ziggy tour.

Ah Beach boys, I bet that would be a good gig.

About 5 years ago - Wilson was there, and the F&B was free. Doesn't get much better than that.

Seen them both with original line ups. But Marillion with Fish and Big Country with the late Stuart Adamson. Both Scots, both superb performers.

The Stones in the early 70's when Mick Taylor was on guitar.

The Who with Moon in his prime before the junk caught up with him.

Early Zep would have been a phenomenon experience.

Cheated on the first one.

Aqua, Steps, pussy cat dolls and girls aloud.

The Temptations, with their 'classic 5' line-up including the awesome David Ruffin and the so-distinctive voices of Paul Williams and Eddie Kendricks. I've seen successive line-ups several times, but that classic group was something else.

AC / DC with Bon Scott but Livewire is as close as you will get

Where did you see the pistols? It wasn't the lodestar at Ribchester or their gig at Keighley was it?

Saw oasis the week they were on top of the pops doing shakermaker . Leeds Irish community centre. They'd played Newcastle the night before and noel was wearing a pair of sunglasses. Most thought he was trying to look cool. He wasn't, he'd been gobbing off to the geordies and got punched. The shades were to hide the shiner!

Saw house of pain in Leeds the same week.

Big country. Saw them plenty of times post stuart adamson.

Payton, Benson, Fakir and the inimitable Levi Stubbs, aka The Four Tops. Never made a poor record.

Boring but The Beatles or Queen.

Genesis with Gabriel fronting them. I saw Genesis in 1975 at Stafford with Collins singing. I did manage to see Gabriel solo in Leeds the year after. Brilliant.

What a great long night out all the bands mentioned would make with the exception of post 15 for obvious reasons.

I was fortunate enough to see Lynyrd Skynrd with RVS at Knebworth in 1976. Fortunately a lot of this gig is on Youtube. The Rolling Stones were the headline act preceded by 10CC, the Skynrds blew both of them off the stage, in fact the Stones sounded like a pub band in comparison.
I saw them 3 or 4 years ago in Manchester where they sounded much more heavy metal than before when they were pure Southern Rock more like the Allman Brothers .

Also I have few regrets in life, but one of them is that when I was in school some mates asked me if I wanted to see the Doors in Manchester & I declined because I had never heard of them at the time, now I would give a lot to be able to go back in time and see that gig.

Allman Brothers with Duane Allman must have been really something else too.

I saw Cream and The Who live in the late 60's. Pete Townshend smashed the drumkit with his guitar at the end of the night.

Would have love to have seen them in the mid 70's with Bon. He might not have been the original singer but was the best.

Saw the Powereplage tour 78 at King Georg'e's Hall and was deaf fro three days afterwards.

Big Audio Dynamite.

Missed them in the mid 80's.

Missed them again in 2011.

Was fortunate enough to see Queen at Bingley Hall Stafford in late 70s. Freddy Mercury best I've seen live. Incredible!

Saw Dr Feelgood and Wilko Johnson a few times but never in the same band.

If we're being pedantic, original Genesis would have been pre Steve Hackett and Fairport Convention would have been pre Sandy Denny. Not quite the same bands.

Agree with you there trumpet. That was indeed the best Temps line up when David Ruffin was at the peak of his career. What a voice.
So sad how he spiralled into decline through drugs and then was dumped on hospital doorstep dying. What an undignified end for a star of his magnitude.

Guns N' Roses. I know they've had something of a revival lately (maybe even with all band members present?) but they're not the band they were. Wish I could have seen them live in the late 80s or early 90s. Alas I was just a wee lad then.

I even saw Oasis support The Milltown Brothers at Machester Academy 2 around 6 months before it really started to blow up for them
