Clarke Carlisle

Post by CleggHall » Sat Apr 01, 2017 11:33 am

Clarke Carlisle on the front page of the Newcastle Journal. Has married a Geordie lass and is still campaigning for mental illness to have more recognition. A troubled life recently but one can only wish this former Claret all the best.

Clarke and Carrie Carlisle. Sound like characters in an American TV Show.

He was a very good pro for us and he played like a man possessed in that playoff final. I don't think he missed a header that day. He's had his troubles and I wish him the best.

Was at an event this week around young people's mental health support where he was the keynote speaker. Was brutally honest about everything. Also took questions on all topics including best (Burnley) and worst (Leeds) clubs he played for.

It's not really offensive though, is it...

Calling a black person the 'n' word is offensive.

Calling a gay person 'pooftah' or 'big fat lezza' is offensive.

Taio made an observation. Lets not go overboard eh?

agree CCC, my point is one of the bitter-sweet of having lived through everything with him and the impact on them..... I hope they're happy for themselves too

Good luck to Clarke but perhaps a lower public profile might benefit him and those near to him in the short term and then hopefully the long term.
