Re: Trippier Starts
Right well put some pressure on him.
And don't let him cross.

I liked Trippier but hopefully applause can kept until after the game.

Quite a strong looking bench we have there
Re: Trippier Starts
Why can't we applaud beforehand for someone who was a great player for us and was key in some of our more recent successes?Blackrod wrote:I liked Trippier but hopefully applause can kept until after the game.
I'd far rather that than the tiresome booing of former players, which I can only guess would fire them up.

Re: Trippier Starts
No probs with warm, welcoming applause before the game for Tripps. Doubt he will appreciate it afterwards when we've won.DCWat wrote:Why can't we applaud beforehand for someone who was a great player for us and was key in some of our more recent successes?

Biggest applause should be to congratulate our newest England CB international: Michael Keane. Let's try and let Michael know that there is no better place for him to play his football for many seasons.

I don't know whether you'll be sad or happy to hear it, but you were wrong.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Guaranter he will get a better reception than any current player. Sad as it is
What's wrong with applauding another team's player? It's not like they play any better because of it. Or would Nugent have scored two every game instead of just one, if we'd been nicer to him?
I can see the attraction, if you don't like a player, of letting him know so that he can decide Burnley isn't a place worth coming back to. I doubt many of us feel that way about Trippier, do we?

Re: Trippier Starts
I don't think that he was trying his hardest today.
No thumbs up when running down the wing and very few whipped in balls that would make Beckham weak at the knees.

I think youve read to much into 'sad as it is' trippier was warmly applauded at the end and cricketfields would have cerainly joined in.dsr wrote:I don't know whether you'll be sad or happy to hear it, but you were wrong.

Neither. Im not overly arsed. I clapped him before the game. Ignored him during and forgot about him after.dsr wrote:I don't know whether you'll be sad or happy to hear it, but you were wrong.

Thankfully there was nothing as embarrasing as when 'we' sung jays name during a game against us. Probably only because we had no songs for him.
Re: Trippier Starts
He was gushingly warm to his former team mates and manager. He stayed and clapped the crowd, all round the ground....just like the old days.
If we had Trippier and Andy Carroll, we would win the league!
