BREAKING NEWS: Boat Race Proceeds!

Post by Rowls » Sun Apr 02, 2017 1:19 pm

Following Brexit, stiff upper lips Brits are proceeding with the Boat Race despite the efforts of the dastardly Hun.

Earlier, war-mongering Germans had dropped the explosive device on London with the aim of causing death, destruction and civil panic.

Standing firm in the face of danger, we Brits have shown them our national character is far stronger than that.

The boat race continues!

God Save the Queen!

Excellent news Rowls, the boys in blue ( dark or light) who go on to rule our country will not be halted by a mere bomb. Long may it continue, and may the best crew win. PPE for all!

These are the days of being politically correct so it should be boat races.

BBC now televise the women's race to give equality and balance.

If they wanted true equality, they'd abolish the women's race altogether. Any woman who is good enough could be in the men's, or rather single, boat - just as it is now.

Or have semi-finals - Cambridge men v Oxford women, Oxford men v Cambridge women. May the best men win! ;)

Should change the format a bit. Ouch a few well calibrated holes in each boat and see who goes the furthest before they sink. The calibration will be important here.
