Good report Tony, we never expect you to "go overboard", somebody's got to keep calm, you and Sean Dyche!

People, including myself, forget that we're a newly promoted side and doing significantly better than the other 2 teams that came up with us.
It was always going to look worse after 4 away games We'll get back on track, only need to find 2 wins at most I reckon

'not going overboard because we lost to this Spurs side'
Agree with that but it was the nature of the defeat that was most disappointing. We never challenged them to a game. Even the non-descript first half had us operating with a back six fending off the visitors and I don't think we had a meaningful effort on goal all game. The expectation of a home league game after 7 weeks wasn't utilised and any atmosphere was engendered by the visiting fans. I'm not one for suggesting changes or otherwise for Tuesday; that's the manager's responsibility and I'm just a punter. I do think, though, there must be a change of approach in their game plan.

Spot on, Tony.
I think we need to get at Stoke, not recklessly, but definitely with a little more urgency - give them something to think about.

Great report as usual. Likewise I left disappointed as I did with City and Chelsea.
Purely because we are that close to being able to beat these teams, that in itself is a remarkable position that we find ourselves in.

Couldnt agree more about Wards contribution, really good.
We were abysmal at passing and keeping possession, even though it was Spurs, there can be no excuses for how often we were guilty of it.
Some real opportunities squandered on our part. Decent build ups just thrown away.
Good article.

I know we beat Spurs the first time we were in the Premier League but I think there has to be some realism to all this. It really is the only time I've left this season disappointed with a home performance and that's incredible for a club like ours at this level. We beat Liverpool and Everton, the defeat to Arsenal was downright ridiculous, we were unfortunate against City and got an incredible point in that draw against Chelsea.Burnleyareback2 wrote:Great report as usual. If someone had told me before the season that I'd have only been disappointed with our performance once against this lot at home I wouldn't have believed them and Spurs are probably the most difficult of the lot to play against.

Amazing to hear "we're now in a relegation scrap".........
We've been in that all season and at the start all agreed survival would be a result.......
Just hope it's a bouncing, not nervy Turf on Tuesday.............
