Bad Burnley Drivers
Caught a couple on my dash cam today but here's the first.
Might turn it into a series.

No offence but your racing line was diabolical. Out-thought, out-braked and out-manoeuvred.

You were obviously driving to slow for the road conditions. Give me a bell and I shall give you some driving lessons

I'll subscribe if you keep the videos coming.
Anyone ever check out "RookieRider" on Youtube? Burnley/Nelson clips. He's caught plenty of assholes on his Go Pro. People really need to stop using their phones whilst driving.

The other is a guy pulling out on me, no sex jokes please.
Wasn't overly close but could have been. Dunno if it's worthy of an upload.

Re: Bad Burnley Drivers
I've crashed at the end of that slip road, years ago before they changed it all
Woman in front of me started to pull away, so I stopped braking/slowing down and accelerated again.
She then stopped for no reason......
She tried to claim I'd driven off etc when she made her dodgy whiplash compensation claim, which was hilarious because I rang the police & ambulance plus she used my phone to ring her husband .

One of the reasons I have a dash cam. Can never be too careful on the road.
Saw a hit and run on Manchester Road today too. Felt sorry for the bloke.

Re: Bad Burnley Drivers
I had another incident where I'd gone left at the end of that slip road and there was a car doing less then 30 in the right hand lane.
This was before the days where I undertook people on a regular basis.
Naturally I had to slow right down and I was sat there shaking my head...
He actually stopped his car on the dual carriageway, got out and started walking towards me .
I had to persuade him to get back into his car, being bigger then him helped.
That was the day I learnt to undertake people who're sat in the wrong lanes driving very slowly etc.
They still get upset with me, but I've gone past them by that point so I'm not arsed.

Be careful C&J, I'm led to believe from somebody who did the same thing as you, that if you upload dashcam type footage you need to blur out any car number plates. You should look more into that.

Yes, sensitive area when posting things like that.
For instance, I can see that you drive a Renualt Clio (From your reg in the window - assuming you've set it up correctly), and amongst your previous jobs you worked for Boohoo - from that one video - listed your oldest job to prevent leaking your entire employment history!
Your car passed it's last MOT fine with 2 advisories though on a positive note!

Plenty of information to start off with there. I think you should remove your reg number from your videos before uploading.

Re: Bad Burnley Drivers
Wish I'd had a dash-cam to record a near accident that occurred to me a few weeks back.
I was waiting at the lights at the Lomeshaye Road junction (where the Spar/petrol station and the former Star cycling club are) waiting to turn right up Lomeshaye Road (for those who aren't familiar with the road there are 2 lanes at the lights, left is to turn left or carry on towards Nelson, right is for turning right up Lomeshaye Road only)
There is a right turn filter light but there were 3 or 4 cars in front of me so by the time it was my turn to turn right although the main light was still green, the filter light had gone off so I had to stop to give way to the now oncoming traffic.
Suddenly some idiot who had either got in the LH lane by mistake or just couldn't be arsed queing cut right across in front of me from the LH lane, just missing my front bumper and oncoming traffic and sped off up Lomeshaye Road, unfortunately I didn't get the reg. no. but it was a reddish coloured peugoet (206 or 306 , I think)

Re: Bad Burnley Drivers
There's a main road near me, where you can turn off onto a downhill road which of course means cars can come up that road, stop, and then pull out to join the main road when it's safe to do so. So many times, I'll be driving back home and drivers have just pulled out almost right infront of me.
There's only one reason why someone would pull out too late (apart from not wishing to become a father) and that's they're unable to use their loaf and know how far away I am, the sort of speed I'm going, and how long it will take them to get to the other side of the road. In other words - they shouldn't be allowed to drive.
I'm thinking of getting a dash cam as it seems to happen every other week. You'd be shaking your head if you saw some of them. To give you a bit of an idea, in Burnley, It's probably on par with you driving down Todmorden Road and somebody at the top of Oxford Road, just deciding to drive out to go up Todmorden Road, just as you reach Hufling Lane. It genuinely feels like my car is invisible in that moment.

Re: Bad Burnley Drivers
If you are driving at the speed of light and you turn on your headlights, what happens?
Re: Bad Burnley Drivers
I always slow down a fraction first, because my headlights aren't on the wheel stalk and when driving at that speed I want both hands on the wheel. So I can't help, sorry.pushpinpussy wrote:If you are driving at the speed of light and you turn on your headlights, what happens?

Re: Bad Burnley Drivers
What a load of rubbish. If that's the case, how did Freddy Mercury and his fellow Queen members manage this whilst singing their famous hit Don't Stop Me Now?If it be your will wrote:Unfortunately this cannot happen. Only massless particles can travel at light speed (photons - including visible light). For your car to travel at light speed it would have acquired infinite mass and also required infinite energy - impossible. Had you said "99.99999% of light speed" say, which is theoretically possible, then it suddenly becomes a really interesting subject:

Hang on. This was never a serious question was it?
