Brady on the wing please Sean.
I still think there's deeper personality issues at play with Defour too.

He is becoming a bit of a sick note. Would be great to have him in the side regularly but can rely on him enough I'm afraid

He is a bit of a sicknote but still probably fitter than Gudmundsson.
Re: ARTICLE: Defour unable to train
Not so sure about that....though I do think there is little chance of him being here come the summer.CombatClaret wrote:Brady on the wing please Sean.

the only thing that is for certain is that he is very injury prone and must have now had at least 5 different injuries since the start of the season. The challenge on Tuesday was pretty innocuous but because it was Defour it seemed inevitable he would be going off as soon as it happened.
I think he is a great player and technically the best passer of the ball in the team by a country mile. But it is not good having a player on our books who is only good for less than half of the season.
Lets hope those rich far away tinpot leagues are still interested in taking him and we can get our money back. There is no chance anyone in this league taking him.

His Body language at the end of Stoke game said it all.

Hearts not in it for this lad unfortunately thinks he's too good for us.Think he practically said we are a stepping stone when he signed, doubt the top lads would bother anyway.Immense talent but get rid in the summer for me!

I also noticed him walking off down the tunnel, separate from the rest of the squad and looking fairly forlorn.Tall Paul wrote:For those of us who aren't experts at reading body language, what did it say?

His body language suggested that if he was subbed off just before 9, he beat the queues for the chippy and make the last bus home to Manchester.Tall Paul wrote:For those of us who aren't experts at reading body language, what did it say?

Give it a day or 2 it will have moved on to him not being injured but Dyche has banned him from training for not working hard enough.

Re: ARTICLE: Defour unable to train
I hope we're considering cutting our losses and have scouted a younger replacement (two infact as we'll need a replacement for Barton). Said it before but no real suggestion that Defour is up to the physical demands of the framework and/or Premier League.
All that hype and money, partly I think to meet the clamour for foreign signings, any foreign signings.

Re: ARTICLE: Defour unable to train
Class player. But too injury prone. Would use his wages to bring in the fitter (albeit chunkier) out of contract Charlie Adam.
Re: ARTICLE: Defour unable to train
If he got injured again he probably would be a bit p*ssed off. I too saw him shaking hands and looking pleased we had won.
There really is some drama queenery. Andre Gray didn't smile enough when he was subbed so there must be some issue with Dyche. Best to get rid in the summer. FFS

Good to see we still have a sense of humour.
Re: ARTICLE: Defour unable to train
I think I saw him throw his jacket to the ground when it was given to him at home to spurs too, I do hope his frustration is with himself and not at being subbed.Blackrod wrote:Andre Gray didn't smile enough when he was subbed so there must be some issue with Dyche. I noticed that Charlie Adam made a special effort to shake hands with all our players at the end of the match. Maybe trying to get a foot in the door?cricketfieldclarets wrote:Class player. A very strong intelligent player and would be a good addition to our squad.

Re: ARTICLE: Defour unable to train
Tough break for him. One of the technically best players I've ever seen in a Burnley shirt. I'd hope we keep hold of him over the summer and have an appropriate fitness regime in place during the off season to get him into better shape for next year. Unfortunately I can see him leaving for pastures new as right now it hasn't worked out as intended for either him or the club.

Charlie Adam is a chancer .falls out with his team mates wereever he's been.Sigmunsson is a better bet at Swansea.

Re: ARTICLE: Defour unable to train
Very unfair to put JBG in the same sicknote category. That was a bad foul by the Lincoln player.
Amazing that if we want we can write off Defour as a mistake without breaking the bank. (Asumming we stay up of course)

Do you mean Sigurdsson? If so, lol, absolutely zero chance of signing him.Woodleyclaret wrote:Charlie Adam is a chancer .falls out with his team mates wereever he's been.Sigmunsson is a better bet at Swansea.
Re: ARTICLE: Defour unable to train
Defour (for whatever reason) seems to lack any sort of pace. At one point in the 2nd half on Tuesday he tried to chase one of their players on the left hand side and within the space of 10 yards their player was 5 yards ahead of him! Must say that I've been very underwhelmed by his performances, other than an odd game.

Re: ARTICLE: Defour unable to train
He isn't pacey, but I don't think think he needs to be - but he is just a quality player. His control and vision is superior to what have in the squad at the moment. Unfortunately he can't seem to catch a break fitness wise. I'm looking forward to what he brings next season.Leisure wrote:Defour (for whatever reason) seems to lack any sort of pace. Re: ARTICLE: Defour unable to train
The number of body language experts that are also Burnley fans always amazes me.
Personally I'd send him off to see some specialists now and start getting him sorted out for next season.
A fit Defour would walk into half the teams in the PL, so lets get him fit and go from there.

Re: ARTICLE: Defour unable to train
If their was an issue between Dyche and Defour or issues with Defours overall attitude then Defours name wouldn't have been on the team sheet on Tuesday night.
I just can't see Dyche saying "maximum effort is the minimum requirement lads, oh that's apart from you Steven, you just arse about if you want"

Defour out left is not the same as Defour in the middle.
If he plays in the middle, we play Defour Four two!

Re: ARTICLE: Defour unable to train
I never thought I would say it after the little sand wedge in the f.a cup when he scored, but I would swop adam for defour he is more Burnley than a defour is,and is vision and passing ability are just has good.Cracking chance we will get him he won't be at Stoke next year I doubt.Perfect fit here I feel
