Watched a few tournament's this season and would have said Judd Trump up until a couple of days ago not looking so likely now.
Marco fu's been playing well although he only scraped through first round looks a good e/w shout still

Missed the Judd match, I'm sure he had a good lead though. I heard he was injured? Not sure what was up with him.

Selby is one boring player though. Pisses me right off when he won't concede a frame despite needing a million snookers. Rocket Ronnie is much better entertainment.

just watching Day vs Xiao.
Lady referee leaning over the black spot to re spot the pink. Arse to camera.
Dennis Taylor says "Could do with screwing that...................back a little further"
It tickled me.

like golf and darts, an incredibly dull game. never got the appeal of this slow moving sleepy game. seemed played out by end of 80's. surprised anyone still bothers with it. I would happily give away any tickets to a final anywhere.

So there's a guy on twitter who thinks that Rory McLeod is sponsored by Isis. As in the terrorist organization.
How do these people get out of bed without hurting themselves?

Re: Snooker
There seems to be a certain % of snooker fans who aren't really into Selby, but I actually think Shaun Murphy is the most annoying. He comes across as a whiter than white character and said he wasn't going to get into the Ronnie kerfuffle, but then immediately followed that up by going on about it! I hope Ronnie goes through vs Murphy, for sure.Right_winger wrote:Selby is one boring player though. Pisses me right off when he won't concede a frame despite needing a million snookers. Re: Snooker
Absolutely because selby is a complete cock of the highest order. Must be something about Leicester and cheating. He cheated Mark Williams in the 2011 shanghai masters final by hitting the pink ball before the red and arguing against it. Also despise him dragging frames out which he has virtually lost needing snookers with 2 balls remaining.FactualFrank wrote:There seems to be a certain % of snooker fans who aren't really into Selby, but I actually think Shaun Murphy is the most annoying. There's no doubt he is a talented player that's not in question.
I agree with you on Murphy aswell.
Re: Snooker
Haven't seen any of it this year. Can sit there for hours must years watching it.
Turn of when selby is on though. You've gotta give him credit for not giving up though.

Agree with both of these posts. I'm glad someone has brought up the Shaun Murphy point. His interviews about Ronnie really irritated me. He's a bit like a slimey politician. Comes across all saying the right things to start, hitting some buzzwords blah blah blah, then leaves a bitter comment towards the end just to plant that seed in the brain. Might have been some mind games knowing he was up against Ronnie next. I hope he gets a hammeringRight_winger wrote:Absolutely because selby is a complete cock of the highest order. Re: Snooker
Hopefully Ronnie can at least keep his 4-frame lead by the end of this afternoon's session. I think if he can do 4-4 at the worst, he's got the match in the bag as at 10-6, with only 3 more needed, it'll be too much of a lead.

10-6 going into the final session tomorrow morning. I think that final frame has made it Ronnie's to lose now.
I can't believe somebody actually stood up to walk out before he'd potted the needed black.

Re: Snooker
I think the scoreline was about right in terms of performance. Ronnie was just too good.
He's the man to beat now. If he plays like that, he'll beat anybody.

Re: Snooker
Selby turns Ronnie into a rookie over a long period. Throws him completely off his game and Ronnie doesn't have the patience for a Selby dogfight.FactualFrank wrote:I think the scoreline was about right in terms of performance. Ronnie was just too good.

Re: Snooker
Ronnie wasn't all that great. If he plays like that against Selby he'll get hammered. I think he'll lose to Ding in the next round, but he'll beat Wenbo if Ding doesn't get through.FactualFrank wrote:I think the scoreline was about right in terms of performance. Ronnie was just too good.

Re: Snooker
You could tell when he was 9-3 up that he took his foot off the pedal - not purposely, but psychologically. And seemed to let Murphy back in. The pundits also seemed to imply that he's a "Different animal" (Hendry) and that he'll win it if he carries on playing like that. A hammering is the one thing I think wouldn't happen. Unless it was Ronnie doing the hammering. Selby can come back though when he looks beaten, so would fancy a close match between the two.
Still the best in the world for me though, when he wants it enough.

Re: Snooker
Well done to both players wonderful session of snooker - Ding plays Ronnie on tues morning
Re: Snooker
Self confessed Ronnie fan.
I can watch the other players (apart from Ebdon.... Shudder). But Ronnie is poetry in motion. Just like Schumacher, Warne or Federer at their best, I like watching the best. I guess some fans don't appreciate "genius" and like to claim you're just a "casual" if you do, (that's tongue in cheek and just playfully turning around the Ronnie fan posts above)
Selby is No.1 for a reason though. Fully dedicated professional, excellent in every aspect of the game, Ronnie can do it if he puts his mind to it. (His interview last year about Selby's play style winding him up previously was interesting). But I, not sure he will. Think this year could pull a few surprises yet. Ding over O'Sullivan maybe.

I'm glad that we've got the Turtle here to tell people how they should like their snooker and which players.
Selby is very boring to watch, but a tactical safety exchange from two players in a match can be brilliant to watch.

Explosive snooker?
Alex Higgins is well gone.
John Higgins is who you want Turtle.
Ding is still not mentally tough enough to beat Ronnie at the Crucible.
