Got mine this morning. Woman at the ticket office said there were only around 500 left after supporters clubs and players have taken their share.

Not surprised it's sold out. Like I said in my post higher up, the lady at the ticket office said that there were around 500 tickets remaining after supporters clubs and players had taken their share. Just glad I got mine!

Why do supporters clubs get tickets, and who monitors that they give them to people with the correct number of points?

I do and I fully support supporters groups giving them to fans that travel away every week. You don't get to know the guys who run the groups by not going to these games.Grumps wrote:Why do supporters clubs get tickets, and who monitors that they give them to people with the correct number of points?

Re: Bournemouth v Burnley – Ticket Information
I called Foundation office this morning. No tickets. Foundation were all sold out by 10:30 on Monday. I was told there were only 1,000 tickets in total (I don't know how accurate this figure is).
I should have set my reminder for Monday morning...
Oh well, there's always next season.

The points system is ******** anyway, iv been going since I was 5 and still not enough points, don't ask why!
Should go off how many away ticket stubs you have

I'd get one then, too !
Re: Bournemouth v Burnley – Ticket Information
Why do Supporters Groups get a share of the allocation? Surely we should all be part of the same rules and allocations?!

Re: Bournemouth v Burnley – Ticket Information
Should be a minimum ground size for the PL. Bournemouth's is far too small.
Re: Bournemouth v Burnley – Ticket Information
We have this discussion every month or so. It's easier if you definitely want a ticket without points, then you are better booking on a supporters club as you get a ticket and travel combined.Bdc wrote:Why do Supporters Groups get a share of the allocation? Otherwise you either need to know someone at the club/ticket office, a supporters club organiser, or have a neighbour/colleague etc who doesn't go away but has ample points, then use there card number to buy all your away tickets. It works for our group. I think out of around 20 of us only 5/6 have enough points.
Strangely the 3 that haven't missed a game for about 4/5 seasons are still shy of that 5000 point mark. However Arthur next door who hasn't been away for 2 decades has 7,000 points ( Fortunately for us he lets us use his number a long with half a dozen others )
Sadly this means younger fans struggle to build up points quickly, and the gap gets wider.
Hopefully a few seasons at this level will see the away numbers drop so everyone who wants too can visit all these fancy grounds. Just hope the young ones haven't drifted off or got bored in the mean time. Nothing beats a great away day with a packed away end. Gets you hooked as a youngster!

- hmmm...definitely not a route we should be going down with our 22,000-ish capacity. We need to be keeping quiet on this one, though the Bournemouth capacity is pretty small I agree.
The Premier League [with some other authorities] won't need much encouragement, somewhere down the line, to bring in new rules about ground capacity/facilities such that they can elbow us, Bournemouth, Watford [whoever] and welcome back Leeds, Villa, Sheffield Wednesday, Forest and the rest.

Re: Bournemouth v Burnley – Ticket Information
I wonder if it would be possible to make it that if you have less than 5,000 points when you buy away tickets you get a 100 points instead of I believe 10 points but once you reach 5,000 drop to 10.
Perhaps another way would be that people who do not intend to go give the right for a ticket to there appointed rep so that the club knows who has bought a ticket for security purposes and also points could then be given to appointed ticket purchaser, so that they build up points in own name.
Perhaps we could get a transfer club with a £5 surcharge for each ticket. £2 to the club £2 for admin and £1 to original Points holder. I know it would mean higher cost for tickets but just trying to make it easier for people who have less points.
We as a group of 4 have 3 people with 5990 each but the youngest member who is 9 has only 1300 points so could not get a ticket for him to go to Bournemouth. Would have paid a surcharge to get him to be able to go with his Dad. (we have got a result if we have gone down to club but on line the man from Delmonte he say NO)

Re: Bournemouth v Burnley – Ticket Information
Quite a big difference between 11k and 21k capacity.
I might sound thick but how does being a member of a supporters club help getting away tickets ?

Re: Bournemouth v Burnley – Ticket Information
At most it's one or two games a season where this issue comes up. So basically it's tough if you haven't got the points. They aren't going to change the rules now for those very few occasions. And whatever way you spin the away stubs, younger fans or retiring points arguments the one thing you can say about the current set up is that it's the fans who have put the most money into the hands of Burnley FC that get the most points and first chance of the tickets.

You book on for your chosen game and request ticket & transport.Blackrod wrote:Quite a big difference between 11k and 21k capacity.

You turn up on the day get on the coach, pay for your ticket and coach fare.
No points, name or hassle.

I don't think it's quite that simple Macca. The supporters groups will only trust the regulars to turn up or could be heavily out of pocket for no real benefit.MACCA wrote:You book on for your chosen game and request ticket & transport.

MACCA - read Leisure's opening post on Accy clarets to Bournemouth where he states that he will only take bookings from people with tickets.MACCA wrote:You book on for your chosen game and request ticket & transport.

Yes, we used to have to pay up front sometimes if a few of us booking to avoid this.
Possibly for this game or this supporters club.tybfc wrote:

Others have and do work differently.
There's no issue is there, we all no the script now, nothings changed. It's just a bit tough.
Like everything else if you really want to be there you can be, it is just a case of at what lengths or what sacrifices you have to make to get there.

Possibly MACCA. I'm not bothered to be perfectly selfish as I have my train tickets, hotel booked for two nights and my match ticket.MACCA wrote:Yes, we used to have to pay up front sometimes if a few of us booking to avoid this.

Re: Bournemouth v Burnley – Ticket Information
The obvious solution is that points should depreciate, e.g. points from the last 2 years count 100%, year 3 - 75%, year 4 - 50%, year 5 - 25% or similar. Therefore those who've been going a lot in recent years can catch up to those who have had a season ticket for many years but don't go to as many games now.
Interestingly some clubs weight their loyalty points. at Chelsea for instance a ticket against a "top six" team is 1 point, another EPL team is 3 points and cup ties 5 points.

Re: Bournemouth v Burnley – Ticket Information
It's just too much admin for the 1 or 2 games a season where this comes up. Only Blackburn and Charlton last year, Man Utd and Bournemouth this year. 90 odd % of games go to general sale.
Re: Bournemouth v Burnley – Ticket Information
Me too. Although we opted out of staying over as it would have been another £150 on top of the £150 I've spent getting there with a match ticket Up to now.tybfc wrote:Possibly MACCA. Re: Bournemouth v Burnley – Ticket Information
Once it's in the system then it takes no more admin than the current system.claret wizard wrote:It's just too much admin for the 1 or 2 games a season where this comes up. Only Blackburn and Charlton last year, Man Utd and Bournemouth this year. 90 odd % of games go to general sale.

Should be an issue for any Burnley fan that wants a ticket but is prevented from doing so due to these behind closed door arrangements.MACCA wrote:Yes, we used to have to pay up front sometimes if a few of us booking to avoid this.

I was responding to TYBFC.Bdc wrote:Should be an issue for any Burnley fan that wants a ticket but is prevented from doing so due to these behind closed door arrangements.
I have been round in circles on this and the other board with regards tickets. It seems the ones at the top don't want change and why would they?
Don't rock the boat warnings and posts have been given, so it seems that this is the way it is, and will remain.
They'll be the same few robots who don't want change, and will defend every last detail in the current system.
I disagree with lots of things surrounding the away ticket arrangements/distribution, but unless you tow the party line you miss out, but such is life nowadays with many things.
Re: Bournemouth v Burnley – Ticket Information
Fair enough MACCA, just frustrating that we don't all have to play by the same rules to get tickets. Seems ridiculous that plenty of people claim to know nothing of these arrangements despite the fact that it clearly happens to the detriment of other fans.
Re: Bournemouth v Burnley – Ticket Information
The ticket office always keep tickets back for certain people.... That Carnt be right either.

I'm not sure how flexible the ticketing system is and whether it'll be configurable like that. I suspect on past experiences that we've got what we've got.aggi wrote:Once it's in the system then it takes no more admin than the current system.

Surely this isn't true as any Joe Bloggs with hardly any points can get a ticket then?MACCA wrote:We have this discussion every month or so. It's easier if you definitely want a ticket without points, then you are better booking on a supporters club as you get a ticket and travel combined
Do supporters clubs not need to submit the names of the people and the numbers of who they are buying for?

Don't want to shoot myself and others in the foot, but last season and this has seen a few of my mates ( some none season ticket holders ) go on certain coaches to guarantee tickets.1989_claret wrote:Surely this isn't true as any Joe Bloggs with hardly any points can get a ticket then?

As the old saying goes, it's not what you know, but who.
How do you think certain posters get prime seats every time, yet you never see them in the queue at 08:50 on a Monday morning?
