FT - BBC commentators saying it's looking like we have quite a bit to worry about in terms of points now

I think we're missing Marney more then many of us thought we would, myself included.

The second change was to bring Agyei on for Barnes. Given the lack of another striker on the bench, probably fair. To go 4-5-1 at that stage would have been decidedly odd.
So - given we only had 2 available subs, whilst I can entirely see the argument for bringing on Defour, I can also see exactly why Dyche took the route he did.

I accept your view and can`t argue with it. WHY though when we could all see that the Barnes/Gray partnership was getting no joy whatsoever did it take do long to withdraw Barnes? I think though he could easily have withdrawn Barnes, slotted Defour into a middle 3 and tried at least something to get the best out of Gray`s strengths.
You`re right though, Utd culd and should be one hell of a team next season. Anyway...onto Palace!!!!

Re: Mighty Clarets versus Mancy Red Sox
The most worrying aspect for Burnley is the lack of goals or a genuine goal threat at PL level.
90 minutes played and not a single shot on target.
IF we stay up it could well be by just 1 point or even goal difference.

Said there will be some "nervous moments" for the run in.HyperClaret wrote:FT - BBC commentators saying it's looking like we have quite a bit to worry about in terms of points now
I wouldn't mind that but some here skipped nervous and went straight to utter hysterics about a month ago.

Re: Mighty Clarets versus Mancy Red Sox
Personally I'd have gone 4-5-1 a lot earlier but as Spice says if the injury forced Dyche's hand he struggles to switch at half time. The JBG sub was a fair one to make (although personally I'd have gone Defour/Barnes and switched formation) but again the commentary team were saying Boyd looked to be limping a bit.
Mourinho got his tactics spot on today - Barnes was effectively a passenger and we won nothing in the air at all.
Disappointing second half but at 2-0 down against a side unbeaten in 22 it was always a tough ask.

Re: Mighty Clarets versus Mancy Red Sox
A home game usually has at least 8 or 9 pages of comments. Today`s 6. Shows that most had pretty much given up the ghost and accepted the inevitable. A poor show on the pitch but good to see Gudmundsson back, Brady looking up for it (first half especially) but we desperately need some guile and a workable Plan B.
Re: Mighty Clarets versus Mancy Red Sox
We need to improve quite some way on that performance to stand a chance of getting anything at Palace. Has to be our poorest show this season.

Agree with first sub, not with second. Sorry Spiceclaretspice wrote:He had 2 subs today. He decided the first one to use was to bring JBG on, to give us more with. Fair enough. Not the only option, but fair enough.

Just seen the second goal on SS1 highlights - damned unlucky. Squirts off Heaton, hits Martial's hand and Rooney scuff-megs Keane.

edit: which makes my 5 for Tom a mark short of the 6 it should have been with the benefit of a TV replay.
