Bet Fellaini wishes he could mark Barnes every week as today was an absolute stroll in the park for him

I blame Dyche. What the F do they do at the multi million pound training complex ? If our tactics under him are to be just launch it and hope for a flick we should have kept Gawthorpe as it was and bought some hugh betting to stop it going in the Calder.

I'm sure Vokes would have started had he not been injured.

Fancy that a manager doing his homework whilst being flexible and picking certain players and tactics for the job in hand.

Moanrinho did a job on us today.
When we are out faught and battled we always look poor performance wise

How he wasn't booked in the first half was beyond me.

Thought before the game Defour should have played behind Gray. Just using one striker

I'm sure that would have improved things. We were crying out for no one to be on the end and of the the crosses we were banging in. Perhaps we could've played it into his feet and made the best of his pace???

Thought we should have reacted to the ploy by shifting Barnes to the left hand side, and bringing Defour or Brady into that central area. But it certainly worked well.

Referee made it clear that he was on his last warning. Dont think he made a single foul after that.
I do think one of the challenges could have merritted a yellow on its own however leniency was the name of the game for both sides today.
Persistent infringement was the closest he came to the caution.

Fellaini won everything and Barnes didn't get a sniff yet it took 75 minutes for us to take Barnes off and we kept repeatedly launching it onto Fellaini's head all afternoon. Zero game plan at all, no plan B.

Burnley getting beat is Viagra for KBRFC

Suggest you go to a doctor and get it drained !

Expect Palace and West Brom to do similar in the next couple of games with Milivojevic and Yacob.

Hopefully we've got another tactic lined up by then.

To be fair that's what Barnes does every game nothing wrong with it and he's a great option

Just that mop top did it better today

Spot on. Today was never about launching balls at Barnes. Fellaini and Bailley lapped it up all afternoon. Plus Pogba isn't exactly small! Today should have been about playing through them on the floor, that's when Fellaini struggles.

Gray looks more out of his depth than Barnes, on two occasions Gray pulled wide and with Barnes storming into the box just needed the first time cross and who knows but Gray chose to turn back on himself and the moment was gone, poor decision making which to be honest was the theme of the whole team throughout the match. Barnes is the only forward who displays a modicum of decent hold up play and I include Vokes in that statement, we are seriously bereft of talent up front. Barnes was as good as anyone in that team today, just not good enough though.

Fellaini won EVERY header at the back and Pogba won EVERY header in midfield and for us that's basically terminal because we NEED those headers. Especially the ones from the long ball from Heaton, Mee and Keane.

Well put. They starved us of our normal oxygen which makes Gray's performance, in the circumstances, that bit better.

UTC!

I agree. I thought Gray was pretty good today and a bit unlucky at times. (Apart from his air shot in the first half when he should have done better imo)

If anyone said three seasons ago that in the future Man Utd would specifically put a man on Ashley Barnes in a Premier League match, then I'd have been ringing for the men in white coats. :D

Lowton's first foul was on a MAn United player - and on Rooney, at that. different rules. If any Burnley player had charged someone in the back like Fellaini did on arnes, he would certainly have been booked. Not least because the United man would have refused to get up off the floor until after the booking.

Why are some refs so very very stupid that they simply do not know that footballers pretend? If it is known that you will give a free kick every time a man rolls on the floor, and you won't give a free kick when he doesn't fall over, how do you then expect to stop players diving?

'Hopefully we will have another tactic lined up by then' we won't. I'd like to see Defour on the pitch playing some balls on the deck and utilising Gray with balls he thrives on. Gray's better moments were when he was forced out wide but we need him in positions where he can be a goal threat. No use pumping balls up top without Vokes on and even then it's not that effective. When it's not a problem for the opposing defence we just carry on doing the same thing.
