I hate the word terrorism. Only invented to give the government powers to do what they want.

It wouldn't of made the news if he was in Burnley.

Quicken makes a point. There was a lad mown down with a machete in London. Killed. Not a mention on the news. Get near anything Government related and it becomes terrorism. All a bit odd.

If he's a chef, they'll let him go after a few questions.

He's going to jail though.

Very bright walking round an area of heightened security with knives. Easy to see now how they can be brainwashed. Zero intelligence.

The suspect was apparently the object of an anti terrorist surveillance operation.
Nabbed before the act, so to speak.

Allegedly.

Yes- it appears he was under surveillance (and probably rightly so given he was carrying knives in a high profile area near the centre of Government).

People have an odd idea what a bread knife is though. Looking at the pictures, there's a large pointed kitchen knife + a smaller one. All the bread knives I've ever owned, whilst having serrated edges for sawing bread, don't have a stabby/pointy end like the two on the floor in the pictures.

I have a bread knife with a vicious serrated edge, a more benign yet still sharp edge and a stabby/pointy bit at the end. It's made by Kitchen Devil and has been the source of many a self-inflicted kitchen injury in my house. Never stabbed anyone with it though. Yet.

It's being reported that his family informed the police that he was planning to cause trouble.

Credit where it's due to them.

I wonder what he was doing down there with all that steel?

Maybe he was a professional apple peeler?

Or maybe he was a terrorist?

He was apprehended before anyone died a horrible and undeserved death, so he must've been an apple peeler.

Had he killed three people, and maimed others before being shot dead, he would've been a reluctant terrorist no doubt?

Put him in solitary confinement for the rest of his natural.

Or shoot him.

He had a knife sharpening business?

The police should get up to Sheffield ASAP, there's thousands of blades there.

It was a throwaway joke. I'm actually quite liberal myself as it happens.

Not that I'm saying that all liberal views are sensible but many of these views do get instantly jumped on by the 'hyperfear brigade' which can often result in the argument being lost and turning into a free for all.

It's difficult to tell jokes from right-wing hatred of liberals and liberalism nowadays.
