FA to end links with betting firms

Post by Paul Waine » Fri May 05, 2017 9:07 am

Times reports today that FA has been reviewing its commercial links with betting and alcohol companies. Said not to be related to Joey Barton's case. Said not to stop clubs have betting firms as shirt sponsors.

Report to be completed in summer.

A mere coincidence that Joey's trial by the FA was a couple of weeks ago!

The Premier League presumably negotiate their own deals. I'd be amazed if they took the same stance.

"Ladbrokes the new official betting partner of the FA" - says it all really!

This was inevitable really after the ruling on Joey last week and on reflection, it's pretty incredible they ever took this decision in the first place.

What's just as incredible though is the fact we have a current Premier League manager appearing on an advert for a well known betting company giving us betting tips!!!!!
