Re: Head held high
nothing whatsoever to have anyone's head held high, what pride can there be in such a shambolic club?
Far, far removed from the east lancs team that once battled honestly for everything. It is a disgrace, punched above your weight just the one time with a ludicrous cash injection that bought a title, then with Jack walkers demise, the rot set in and stayed.
It has become a byword for mismanagement and totally inept ownership.
Laughing stock best describes the utter mess down there.

Massive drop in income next season, none of those BIG away followings to cash in on.......... Leeds 7k, Sheff Wed 5k, PNE 6k, Villa 5k, Newcastle 6k, Huddersfield 4-5k all rough figures but equates to approximately 35k or 3 total crowds from Home games this season, in other words 15% of their income from home games, that's without the loss of Home fans (I use this term loosely) who will throw their toys out the pram and vow never to go again until someone is prepared to spunk money at it again!

Rovers will get a measly £1 million next season in Div 1 and we get in the region of £100 million. The gap has never been greater for the have and have not's.
The gap has never been greater between the two of us and now it is in our favour. Its going to be a long, long time before we play ******* Rovers again
We are the Pride of Lancashire and the rest are light years away

Re: Head held high
Man City played Stoke away and won 5-2 but it didn't matter because Stans Bury won 1-0 at QPR. Pompey won 3-1 at Bradford whilst Port Vale won 4-0 at Udders.secessionman wrote:It was even more bizarre in 1998 if my memory serves me correctly.
Man City needed to win away to have any chance of staying up. A win could have taken them above any one of about 5 other clubs who were all also away from home (Huddersfield? Portsmouth? Crewe?). They all won and Man City went down.
Man City, Stoke and Reading all went down.

You're all misinterpreting the point Saxo is trying to make.
We should congratulate him and his little club for making it into League One, it's a good few divisions up from where they belong.

If your academy players were any good, they would have been drafted in over the past few weeks to try and save the sinking barge. But they weren't and it's hilarious to see you trying to clutch at straws like that and trying to find a positive from your abominable situation. By the way, did you go to Brentford? Do you ever go to see them play?Saxoman wrote:You could be right, who knows? My betting is jacks academy will save us.

Am I right in thinking Wovers will have the 1st round of the FA Cup to look forward to next season. That'll be a big deal for them, hoping they make the 3rd Round proper and get an away draw at one of the big boys.

No, it's fine, really, the academy kids will sort it out. Aye, they'll have to, there'll be nobody else interested in playing for that basket case of a club.
If any of the kids are any good, they'll be off to a proper club pretty soon anyway. Love it.

Saxo, when the Venkys pull the handle and 'bang out', you will look back at these times and wish they were still here. When they do go, who are going to pay your bills and bail you out? They have blown millions and millions on you, you hopeless basket case and all you do is give them sh!t. Be careful what you wish for because you might get it. Btw, enjoy the minor leagues, you will be there for some time.

Must be difficult, though, being so interested and so involved in "your" club and its players that you can't even go and support them.
