Rovers..Reasons to be cheerful ?
Being not totally lacking in empathy and human kindness, I thought I'd put some thoughts together on why our " friends " from Deadwood should look on the bright side of their newly found League status....
1. Your team will improve, they'll have to... every other Club in your new division will see you, rightly or wrongly, as the scalp they want next season and raise their game...this will lead to your betterment and is to be welcomed..
2. Lower crowds will lead to substantial savings on stewarding and policing costs..
3. Admission prices, car parking, programmes and pies will all cost less at away grounds. You will save money.
4. The majority of 3rd Division grounds still allow for standing areas. Many of you prefer this.
5. Many of you will have the aim of joining the "92 Club" of visiting every League Ground. Your new status will help you achieve this earlier than expected.
6. You will rediscover the " Magic of the Cup ", with direct entry into the 1st round of the FA Cup....more games to get battle hardened. That's not the end of good Cup news, your 1st team will now be able to play in the " Checkatrade " trophy, with three Group matches guaranteed.
7. Tier 3 and 4 Clubs are subject to strict Financial controls regarding wages to turnover, which is good news for you. I read that many of you are unhappy with your owners only injecting £85m into the Club over the past 6 years, and how this money has been spent. Hopefully, these strict controls will prevent any more of this malarkey...
8. Finally the best news of all, no more of those boring " International breaks " that be-devil the game in the top two Divisions. Three times a season, those free weekends when you're dragged round B & Q or the Trafford Centre, because there's no game on !! Not an issue next season ...
I hope this cheers you up, remember, every cloud has a silver lining...
Have a great Summer !!

I gave you a like because I'm too p!ssed to offer anything else. What. A. Weekend. I even had a go at the (Blackburn) Mrs who doesn't give a sh!t about football. It wasn't worth it, but who gives a sh!t? I don't!. Make the most of it guys because such occurrences don't happen very often so when they do, fill your boots!

Its to be hoped Fleetwood don't mess up their '92 club' chances by winning the play offs and playing in the league above them next season.
Re: Rovers..Reasons to be cheerful ?
Also they have the excitement these next two weeks or so of looking at the league 2 play offs, who oh who will they be playing BPool Carlisle Exeter or Luton while all we have is the worry of how to spend our £120million and will we see Messi at the Turf playing against us and how we cope.

Don't Blackburn's under 23 side play in the check a trade trophy already? How will that work out now will they be allowed two teams? Maybe they'll win a game if they play each other

A long trip to Exeter would be another potential highlight for them.bfcjg wrote:Also they have the excitement these next two weeks or so of looking at the league 2 play offs, who oh who will they be playing BPool Carlisle Exeter or Luton while all we have is the worry of how to spend our £120million and will we see Messi at the Turf playing against us and how we cope.
Lovely is the West country on a wintry Tuesday evening in January.

They aren't going to lose to Burnley again any time soon.

Re: Rovers..Reasons to be cheerful ?
Blackburn? Let me think; aren't they some minor league outfit? They must be sh!t or they would be in the Premier.
Re: Rovers..Reasons to be cheerful ?
They'll soon be left with a squad where junk like Darragh Lenihan, Ryan Nyambe and Hope Akpan are seen as their better players.
This means that no other club will ever try to poach a footballer from them again, allowing them to build good relationships on the pitch which could see them survive next season.

Re: Rovers..Reasons to be cheerful ?
Well, you are a ray of f*ckin sunshine. Let's hope they drop to their natural level of league 2.
Re: Rovers..Reasons to be cheerful ?
Perhaps you ought to stress that they need to attend every away game next season to have a chance of doing this? 23 new places to visit next year, it's true(ish); but they'll only get one chance at these 23, then in 2018-19 it's all change again as they visit 23 new League 2 grounds.Clarets4me wrote:5.
