Didn't get stuck in enough according to some of the numb nuts on here, and on the previous board.

Shut up. Apart from a great goal against you know who When did he play well for us?ElectroClaret wrote:Didn't get stuck in enough according to some of the numb nuts on here, and on the previous board.

Is it beyond the realms of possibility that he may be playing better for a different club?
Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
He looks really good now, probably because he no longer has to play as a secondary fullback in a Dyche team. He's given freedom to attack, licence to roam and the ball passed to his feet not whacked over his head.

I didn't know that you could ever say something good about any player.KRBFC wrote:He looks really good now, probably because he no longer has to play as a secondary fullback in a Dyche team. He's given freedom to attack, licence to roam and the ball passed to his feet not whacked over his head.

Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
He always looked like a premier league player who struggled to adapt to the physicality of the championship. I thought he looked very good today and looks to have developed his game. He's exactly what we're crying out for.
Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
I didnt go today, however now he has matured into senior Stanislas I really do feel that if we had of held onto himConte would have not been celebrating just yet it would have gone to the wire.
That said what an equaliser against Bstards and for that he will always have my respect.

A confidence player so wouldn't fit into the SD mould, did well to go to a sympathetic manager who liked wingers.

Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
Some revisionism going on here. Stanislas was inconsistent and few were bothered following his release.
He's done much better with a new club in the same way Scott Airfield has following his own release from Huddersfield.

Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
He had a small run of games under Dyche and did really well but got dropped immediately when other players were fit again even though he was playing well.
He didnt fit Dyches style so he was left as just a squad player and in retrospect that was the right decision from Dyche who knew what type of players he needed to achieve his goals.
Lets not kid ourselves though that Stanilas didnt look like a good Championship player with a bright future as he most definitely did and many posters on here said so at the time
The move was right for both teams and apart from his goal yesterday I am pleased he has cracked on and now looks every inch a Premier League player

I know a West ham ST holder who said exactly the same. Can be excellent on his day, but very inconsistent.
Also definitely not a Dyche type player.

Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
He has great ability as shown by his goal yesterday and some of the cracking crosses he used to put in when playing for us but as with a lot of wingers he was pretty inconsistent
Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
Attacking wingers are usually inconsistent. It's normal. If we were to play two offensive wide players next season we'd see it regularly.
Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
I thought Marc Pugh was better. Lowton had a tough afternoon

Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
Average can best describe his time at the Turf. Quality one week then woeful for the next three.
I am glad for him that he has knuckled down and finally got the thing that he was missing during his three years here - consistency.
The way some people suggest we missed a trick by letting him go is ridiculous, he had three years to make himself the first name on the team sheet and spectacularly failed to do so by consistently underperforming on a weekly basis.

Scored a good goal but other than that I didn't think he was one of the Bournemouth players to offer too much, they had far better players. He played as he did for us on too many occasions I thought which is why he never got too many games.dermotdermot wrote:Pretty good in my opinion. Pity we couldn't hang on to him.

Didn't rate him a Burnley, still don't rate him now. Wouldn't get in any other premier league sides first 11.

I'll sum up Stanislas time at Burnley.
Comes off the bench and does something great.
"Wow, he needs to start next game".
Starts the next few games and does nothing and goes back to the bench.
Rinse and repeat.

[quote="ablueclaret"]A confidence player so wouldn't fit into the SD mould,
I don't understand what this means...
Are you inferring that Dyche is unable to work with confidence players?
Or that confidence players are not successful playing for Dyche?
Aren't all players confidence players..?

It's a better rate than Arfield and Boyd, who'll have a good game, then keep their places until they next do something worthwhile in 7 months time.KefkaClaret wrote:I'll sum up Stanislas time at Burnley.

I'd say that's wrong. Ashley Westwood is very much a confidence player and he has slotted in very nicely indeed.ablueclaret wrote:A confidence player so wouldn't fit into the SD mould, did well to go to a sympathetic manager who liked wingers.
Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
I was suggesting that they wouldn't pick Arfield and Boyd ahead of Stanislas. And as it's make believe speculation there is nothing wrong with guessing whether Karanka would have picked them either. Karanka was the manager that essentially guided Boro to relegation. The point that was clearly too subtle for some. Thanks.Devils_Advocate wrote:Karanka doesnt manage Middlesborough anymore and considering Moyes plays Jaanuzaj Id beg to differ

I didn't agree with your main point, just suggested that two failed managers probably would play Junior ahead of our two.Devils_Advocate wrote:Yes far too subtle for me i admit but glad to see you agree with my main point

Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
I had to get a ticket in the Steven Fletcher Stand and I can assure you he was buzzing in the second half. Seemed to be playing in a more central midfield position and oozed confidence and great skill. The Bournemouth fans even had a song for him - I can't remember exactly how it went and he received rapturous applause when he went off.ClaretTony wrote:Scored a good goal but other than that I didn't think he was one of the Bournemouth players to offer too much, they had far better players. I think that Sean Dyche could perhaps see his potential when he offered him a contract. He turned it down in favour of dropping a division and rejoining Eddie Howe.
Nice fellow as well. I ran into him and his wife and two kids in Waitrose last summer.

I have not questioned that or questioned Dyche on getting rid of Stanilas. My reply was to a ridiculously critical post about Stanilas backing up his point by stating Stanilas wouldnt get in another Premier League team. Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
There really is some moronic thinking on this thread....yeah Arfield and Boyd are truly useless and much worse than Stanislas...that's why we were Championship champions last season and invincible after Boxing Day, followed by a season when we alone, of the promoted clubs, have managed to survive in the Premier League. It's great to be slagging off our players and manager in these circs isn't it ! Unbelievable.

No-ones said Arfield and Boyd are useless and no-one has slagged them off. The slagging off has mainly been of an ex player who gave a lot to our club and gave us some great moments and as a result people like me are just trying to add some balance

Fair enough and ive alluded on other threads that Dyche only rated Stanislas as a squad player and thats why he left so I take your point that my terminology in that post is not correctdermotdermot wrote:He didn't get rid of him. He offered him a new contract but Junior turned it down.
Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
Do you not believe that his sole season target would have been to keep the team up? On that basis he did fail. Understandable/expected....yes but ultimately a failed quest.Devils_Advocate wrote:Did you regard Dyche as a failed manager two seasons ago?

Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
Ok if you regarded Dyche as a failed manager just because we got relegated thats your opinion but dont think you'd have a lot in agreement with you.
Both Moyes and Karanka failed this season but they are far from failed football managers.
Anyhow we've gone off topic and obviously disagree so i'll leave it there

Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
So you make stuff up then close down the discussion. You asked me whether Dyche failed two seasons ago, as I had inferred both Moyes and Karanka had this season. I said yes. You then decide that Dyche is a failure according to me. Strange.Devils_Advocate wrote:Ok if you regarded Dyche as a failed manager just because we got relegated thats your opinion but dont think you'd have a lot in agreement with you.

Re: How good was Junior Stanislas today?
You referred to them as two failed managers in post #31 and your only logic for that seemed to be because they failed this season in the same way Dyche failed two years ago
My point was I believe Stanilas would get in any other Premier League team other than Burnley ahead of Boyd and Arfield. You have been happy to suggest that it is true for Boro and Sunderland so what about the other 17 teams?
