Andre interesting Everton and Spurs
According to the Daily Star.
Everton more interested, but Spurs also fancy him, apparently.
And we'd "rather sell this summer than have him walk away for nothing in 2018"
Shades of Ings, I feel. Though you never know, he may sign a new contract.

Re: Andre interesting Everton and Spurs
Is he good enough for a team like Spurs though?

Re: Andre interesting Everton and Spurs
Interestingly, I've just found out that the author of the piece, Rhys Turrell, is a Brighton fan.
Might be filling the paper with crap about BFC, who knows? That's conspiracy theory 101 that though, and I usually don't bite

And who would you replace him with for 10m? I wouldn't even start negotiating at 10m. We don't need to sell.brexit wrote:If it is anything over 10M sell him

Considering we paid £10 million for Hendrick & £13 million for Brady I'd say we'd get at least £15-20 million in the current market.brexit wrote:If it is anything over 10M sell him

No I am sure there are 1 or 2 more on here who judge a player's value after a handful of games.

Re: Andre interesting Everton and Spurs
>>>He is so awful, with no first touch, no control, no natural goalscoring ability etc (as described by various posters on this site) that it is inconceivable that these reports are true.<<<
In reality, he is a player with 9 Premier League goals to his credit despite not starting all the time and who has caused problems for a number of very high quality defenders even when he hasn't scored. He has grown as a player and, as far as we can see, as a person. He will continue growing as a player next season too.
Unless we get an offer for silly money that turns his head AND we can identify a replacement with the same growth potential I would love to see him stay.

If we sell Keane for £20 million (net £15m) and Gray for £10million we will be banking approximately half the cost of effectively replacing them!

No doubt Grays agent will be drumming up interest, though I cant possibly see anyone paying 20mill for him, though with market prices beggariing belief maybe we could end up mugging some big time club of a largish wedge.

Re: Andre interesting Everton and Spurs
We need to get him to sign a new contract. Andre is improving all the time and his all round game has improved this season.
If he keeps improving the way he has, then next summer he could be worth around the £30 million mark.
If he gets the service he will get the goals. We will do well to keep hold of him. He will be looking at 35k plus p/w

Re: Andre interesting Everton and Spurs
If we sell him for £10m, who says that's all we will spend to replace him? Who says we won't add another £10m to that for the right player???
Never been his biggest fan, due to certain elements of his game not being strong enough, but I can see when a player has improved over the season, and he definately has. If the deal was £10m, I'd be inclined to keep him. Even if we were to bring in a proven PL striker, he'd be a great impact sub with his pace and strength.
But having said that, as much as he has improved, he's not at the level of Spurs or even Everton, just yet.

Re: Andre interesting Everton and Spurs
Would love to see AG in a free flowing attacking team, he has things to work on but so do all of our players but he offers a big threat when he isn't starved of service. I'd love him to stay with us for years to come but if he doesn't sign in the summer then you would expect him to be sold.

He's a real player. Rough and raw in places sure but definitely a Premier League striker who'll only improve. Can imagine West Ham possibly coming in for him for about eighteen million.
Re: Andre interesting Everton and Spurs
I would like him to stay however i think he is a southern guy and he would want to return to the south especially as now he is on the celebrity girlfriend bandwagon.

Fair point I think he relocated to London though. However I still think he would prefer the London scene. I wish he'd stay though.

As pointed out he's from the Midlands and pretty sure both him and his girlfriend don't have to always meet down south!
Hoping he signs a new deal.

Brady and Gray will develop, mature and improve next season, and the season after that.
I hope they're both still playing for us as they progress.

Re: Andre interesting Everton and Spurs
I think Andre's future needs to be sorted asap, and so the fact contract negotiations will only start after the season ends is a bit if an alarm bell rather than a positive story for me - I can't imagine the club would have chosen to delay them.
If Andre is staying, then we're looking for a second striker who can play behind him, provide us with a target option but also supply Gray. If he goes, we're probably looking for a very different sort of forward, who can play off Vokes or Barnes in an Ings type role and possibly some pace out wide to give us the option of playing 451.
Im a huge fan of Andre and i don't think he's easily replaced - his record this season is good and with the right service i do think he'd be a terrific asset next season. But - he does drive us towards a fairly rigid, direct 442 system and if he does leave it gives an opportunity to build the team around a more fluid set up next season.

Sounds like some nice juicy rumours... wonder if that would help with "the on hold" contract negotiation... nice eye watering wage and a release figure that leaves the club feeling raped anyone?

Re: Andre interesting Everton and Spurs
Gray is the type of player we should be looking to keep and extend his contract, he's not the finished article, but we need to look at building a squad that is capable and has different attributes, Grays been pace and power. Sounds like he's willing to sign a contract, which is great news.
I do wonder though if he gets fed up with the lack of supply, and the method of the supply, I think if we, or any team could get the ball to him in the right way, Gray running onto through balls along the floor, and not knocked high, he'd blossom even more.

Re: Andre interesting Everton and Spurs
I don't think he enjoys playing in a Dyche team tbh, you can see he gets p*ssed off with no service and 3 defenders around him.
