I haven't booked it yet as I have a bulging disc and a trapped nerve and want to see what the Consultant says about the course of action needed and chances of improvement in my condition.[/quote]
I feel your pain, I have missed most of this season through it.
I had a Microdiscectomy 6 weeks ago, it is a lot better but it is a slow job.
I was hoping to get to last game of the season but not looking good now.
We are taking my Partners Daughter and Grandchildren to Alnmouth in Northumberland.

My mother-in-law has had a place over there which we've been going to for nearly 30 years now. Just set back in the hills above Moraira - near Teulada and Benitachell ... fabulous!minnieclaret wrote:To true. My Mum had a villa at Moraira for 20 years. Down there regularly.

Went in the August and a bit to humid for me weather wise, but discovered that the standard of living was much better then ours in GB even then.
Stayed with friends of my girl friend's parents who had emigrated previously.
Thought about emigrating myself but didn't in the end.

Had two weeks in Elounda for our honeymoon in 88 absolutely loved it, went back for a day last year slightly changed but still loved it with the small harbour and the food we had was excellent, Love Greece.Chobulous wrote:Another two for Crete here. It's Mrs Chobbo's 60th this year so we're having 11 nights all inclusive in Elounda. I've been to Crete 3 times before, plus Kos, Rhodes and Kefalonia but so far Crete is my favourite. Can't wait for kleftiko followed by a few rakis.
A week away in late Nov early Dec Tenerife to get some vitamin D before winter sets in.

Re: Where are you going on holiday?
If you like a beach, not good (very small)not much night life. Expect to pay about 3.50 euros for a large beer, you won't find it any cheaper. The only place we found for a bit of entertainment, was Highland paddy's bar. A few eating places, but not that many.Quite a lot of 70 plus people there,so not very lively.ashtonlongsider wrote:Breaking with tradition this time. Normally go to Mallorca in June and October but having a change. Going to Los Gigantes Tenerife. Not sure what to expect but we'll give it a try.
