Where are you going on holiday?
I've not been on holiday since 2004 but only because I am happy being at home in my garden. So, I'm not going to brag about where I'm going but CaptainKirk's thread has got me wondering where the rest of you go. Who is going to start?

Re: Where are you going on holiday?
This year I'm not really planning on going anywhere.
Definitely one of the Spanish islands next year, when my daughter will be 3 and probably at a better age to fly a reasonable distance.
I'm hopefully going to get a weekend away with my teenage sons to watch football in Europe somewhere, trying to do that before Xmas.
Any other holiday I've got will be spent doing day trips with my missus and toddler daughter and up to Largs, Scotland at Xmas to take my daughter to see my mum.

Glen Nevis next week, St. Anton, walking, early August and then Denia, boozing, late August with Poland during October half-term. That should do for a while...

Re: Where are you going on holiday?
Off to Cuba in August. Going back to the same hotel that I have previously stayed in which is something that I've never done before. It's a real indication of how highly we rated it when we was there

Cornwall in summer, Spain in September for a few days then Barbados in December. Staying at the same hotel in Barbados that we did last year. Being diagnosed with cancer makes you appreciate life, you can't take it with you!!

Re: Where are you going on holiday?
Greek islands are fabulous, Blackburn.
Crete's great, lovely food (Greek foods underrated imho).Try a proper Greek salad.
Once you've been to one island, you'll want to try another. Well, I did.
Have a good time.

Re: Where are you going on holiday?
Canada - to see my parents and siblings.
Re: Where are you going on holiday?
Glasgow and Sant Antoni de Calonge.
Re: Where are you going on holiday?
I'm hoping to go back to Los Cristianos in Tenerife in September as I did last year or possibly leave it till early next year and would then consider somewhere like Saint Lucia where I have been twice before.
I haven't booked it yet as I have a bulging disc and a trapped nerve and want to see what the Consultant says about the course of action needed and chances of improvement in my condition.

Currently in Lanzarote and off to Albufeira for a stag do next month. Nothing else planned for the rest of the year yet but I'll have to take the long haired general somewhere in return for her granting me bail to go on this stag...

Re: Where are you going on holiday?
Another two for Crete here. It's Mrs Chobbo's 60th this year so we're having 11 nights all inclusive in Elounda. I've been to Crete 3 times before, plus Kos, Rhodes and Kefalonia but so far Crete is my favourite. Can't wait for kleftiko followed by a few rakis.

Re: Where are you going on holiday?
After living in Thailand for the last 4 years a holiday seems weird! However, due to my wife's health it's difficult to organise something. However, we are heading across to Greece for a week in September. We have 3 nights in Corfu and 4 nights in Athens....

Re: Where are you going on holiday?
Went to Lourdes for a week in February and then have booked a fortnight with all the other season ticket holders of Burnley in Crete in July. I've been to Rhodes a couple of times and loved it but the kids wanted a water park or didn't want a holiday 'cos they would be BORED!!!!
I would have forsaken the whole lot for my beloved Goa.

How was Chengdu? I really want to go there for the Szechuan food but I gather it really is in the middle of nowhere and may be a bit backward...Beagleheart wrote:Went to China over Easter which was mindblowing - Beijing, Xi'an and Chengdu. Going to Rhodes in July.

Quiet one this year, Florida was great last year, but needed a holiday after the holiday.
My only requests this time were quiet villa somewhere not cold, the rest was left up to the Mrs to sort out.
