Josef Barton historical coIncidences

Post by Belgianclaret » Thu May 18, 2017 9:29 pm

My interest in history, particularly in the first and second world war, made me stumble across the following fact:

On 27th May 1942, Czech airmen carried out the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, a.k.a. the Butcher of Prague and the architect of the Jewish extermination program.

By means of retaliation, Hitler ordered two Polish villages (Lidice and Lezaky) to be burned down, as well as the assassination of around 1,300 people.

First in line were hundreds of resistance members, including one Josef Barton, who was executed on 30th May 1942.

Wonder whether our own hero is aware of this fact?
