Rip to all those children and families affected horrible world we live in at times.. And the big moan on here this week was / is about kids enjoying themselves on the pitch. Puts it all in to perspective doesn't it really. R.i.p to all those affected.

Back to the more important discussion this is truly barbaric and cowardly i mean its children ffs! Revenge for the three girls docu-film!? It shouldn't happen to anyone ever but aiming it at kids is pure evil!
PS Aaron glad everyone is ok mate.
Cheers Stu. The thing that keeps going through my head was that they said they were stood initially right next to where the blast happened. It could have been so different. People sharing photos of loved ones breaks my heart. How can people be so evil? These are innocent kids without a care in the world. How do parents and teachers explain to their friends the sick reasoning behind this? Utter pathetic which is going to take a lot more of a hashtag to solve.

I've got a friend who lives in a flat next to the MEN arena. He said the building shook with the force of the explosion. Gives you an idea of the power of these things. Sad and scary really.

Thoughts with the parents and kids affected, don't like to imagine what it's like. Great response from the good folk of Manchester.
There'll be no end to this, it's always happened for some warped reason or other and always will.

Re: Breaking News Manchester Evening News Arena Explosions
As I went to bed last night there hadn't been much confirmed, but waking this morning to see that 22 people had died with many injured really got me.
Just knowing that a lot of those killed will be young kids who've just had the time of their lives, with exciting lives ahead of them, and their parents will be around about my age, it got me really emotional.
It's so close to home. My daughter is going on 13 and has been going to gigs like this as birthday/christmas presents for a few years. I couldn't handle her being taken away from me, let alone by a sick ******* who would murder her in such a way.
I feel sick thinking about it, the worry of those whose kids haven't been reported safe, and I'm devastated for the families of those whose lives have been taken or are injured. Even just being there will stay with those lucky enough to be unhurt.
One glimmer which came from this was how local people reacted, from the hotels opening their doors to act as meeting/safe points to taxi drivers travelling from miles around to offer free rides home.

Police cuts seriously hindering the surveillance of thousands of terrorist suspects as we speak.
Similarly with NHS cuts resulting in even more pressure on our already over worked health workers,
We have a General Election on June the 8th so vote this lot responsible for the above out...and keep them out.

It's catch 22 whereas you can't let these nobheads win BUT we should do all we can to keep our loved ones safe. I don't know what the answer is. I don't live in fear but I wouldn't want to put my family in harm's way.

Taking the missus and kids to London next weekend, can't wait. We'll all be off on our hols this summer and going to concerts, festivals.
If something does happen, I hope that wouldn't stop anyone else going the week after. We're all going to die one day, I'm not hiding in my bedroom until then.

Breaking News Manchester Evening News Arena Explosions
Likely a very tenuous theory and more probable that it was in the planning for a long time, but I wonder if the 'Three Girls' programme could have had any influence in targeting such an event. Assuming of course that this is an Islamist attack.
Some of the stories of people on five live from the scene are bloody awful. At the same time they show both an amazing amount of courage and the very best side of human nature, to counteract the very worst.
How the hell this sort of thing can be stopped, God only knows.

I think if you are going to try to link a tv show to this, then Channel 4 had a far more relevant one on from the historian Tom Holland on ISIS.
Not that I think its linked, these numpties will do this whatever we do.

I cannot comprehend the anguish and grief these poor parents of the dead injured and missing are going through, I worry when mine have a cold. I just feel numb, we have all been there or similar crowded venues. I cant feel angry at the moment I just despair that someone is so warped that they think their "god" needs little girls killing to prove how great their "god" is. Surely it is now time to reopen/build more secure psychiatric hospitals and start sectioning people who believe similar. Once there is adequate suspicion, don't wait while they have a bag of knives or go into the diy store section them.

What I worry about now is that is there a stage where the people who do this will say "Nope, we can't do that"?
I don't think there is, so try to imagine the worst possible thing a suicide bomber could do and then realise that its going to happen in your lifetime.

Re: Breaking News Manchester Evening News Arena Explosions
Terrible news and loss of life for many, children included. This however happens in the likes of Iraq and Syria daily and we unfortunately, on the whole, don`t bat an eyelid.
What does strike me, watching the coverage just now, is the depths **** journalists will go to for a`quote`. A few minutes ago they announced that an 8-year old girl was one of the victims WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH but no, oh no. The next line was "the headteacher at her school has told us what a wonderful girl she was." What benefit is that to anyone? They have gone to the trouble and no doubt bothering people and God knows what time for a vacuous quote.
No doubt they will be parked on her parents` front door step as we `speak` (I have experience of their tactics 10 years ago).
Sad though and my heart goes out to the families.

"The Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group has taken responsibility for Monday night's attack at the Manchester Arena that killed 22 people, including children, and wounded 59 others.
"One of the soldiers of the Caliphate was able to place an explosive device within a gathering of the Crusaders in the city of Manchester," the group said in a statement Tuesday....."

Where is the credibility in this statement? It is very easy for these groups to jump on atrocities such as these....before you jump on me I am NOT condoning it in any way shape or form, what I am questioning is the 'reliability' of the claim.
