As it says. Big Sam has told Palace he's leaving.

I wouldn't mind Big Sam at Burnley, I'll be confident in staying up with him in charge... not my number 1 replacement for Dyche though, but just saying.

According to the London Standard "Allardyce expected to be at Palace next season".

Fake news?

He's always laughed off the Burnley job when he has been linked. No lover of the club and sees himself as unemployable by Burnley given his past connections.

Bloody hell, you must dislike him.

The one thing with Sam is that the players have great respect for him. Apparently an outstanding man manager.

I like big Sam but also at this moment think this is Fake News unless he is going to Barcelona or Athletico Madrid. He has always said how well he would do at a "big club" with access to the right funds, I would really like to see him given a go to prove it one way or another but never going to happen IMO.

Unless he's getting himself for the Arsenal job

First job that has come up this summer that I've been mildly concerned might attract Dyche.

According to today's London Standard Allardyce expected to meet with Steve Parish this week to discuss transfer strategy. Adds that Big Sam has some concerns (size of transfer kitty one suspects) but is expected to be at Palace next season.

Big Sam spent £30m in January perhaps transfer kitty is exhausted.

You could pretty much bet that if Big Fat Sam became Burnley manager....that would be the first time he failed to keep a club in the Premier League...!!!!

The problem with a newspaper is, it's more or lesd behind by the time it hits the tube stations. Thats just rehashed information from the weekend. Lot's of reputable sources saying as fact. Might be wrong but think he's gone.

Doesn't want to continue in management according to the telegraph - wants to 'go out on a high'.

He'll be back in work by October then.

He's done for Palace this season what he did for Sunderland last season. A lesser manager and they could well have been relegated. Wrong appointment (Hodgson for example) and next season could be very difficult for them. Sean may well be linked but would be very surprised if he is tempted. Too much of a risk at this stage of his career. He has a better chance of keeping us in the PL next season as things stand.

I think we'd be kidding ourselves to believe this wouldn't be seen as a step up for SD unfortunately. He knows he won't get a 'big' job so the likelihood is a club with more potential and larger budget would be the obvious stepping stone for him to keep progressing his career.
He's been quick to observe that next season will be harder and player recruitment will be tough this summer. The way we dismantled Palace on their patch will be fresh in their memory. Palace will be looking for something longer term in their next appointment id imagine - especially after 3 managers in 4 years. They can't be anything other than very impressed with Dyche and following allardyce would not result in a change of style. Let's hope hodgson or Ranieri gets offered it - but I have a churning tummy on this one :(

No team is going to come in for a manager with 1 away win in a season
No team are going to come in for a manager who's side have never come from a goal down to win in the PL

I know it's about what tools you have to work with but there were plenty of games where Dyche being too negative cost us wins imho. Saying that, we were unlucky in some games not to get better results. I just don't see a big queue of PL clubs looking at him at this moment in time

edit* I should add, I'm not slagging Dyche off, I think he's done very well with what he has to work with

that would be my only concern, still doesn't change the fact that I don't see anyone coming in for him this summer. If we stay up next season with some away wins etc then I think he could well be in demand

Yeah, can see the away wins happening next season. Unbelievable, but there's plenty on here think we don't actually need to replace Keane. Going to be much, much harder next season, would not blame Dyche if he jumped. However, his stock isn't really that high as some think, can't think of a PL team who's fans would be anything less than dismayed if he was appointed.

Sean Dyche has never walked into a job and had an instant result. That's what they would expect at Palace. He is about changing the culture and having a long term project. He knows the risk of going to Palace is too great and so I'm sure he is happy with how much control he has here at Burnley. Dyche isn't going anywhere until he establishes us in the prem.

he's learning with us so I've got to give myself a slap when I become too critical of him, most of our players are Championship standard and he kept us up - we most definitely need to replace keane and the gaffer will deffo need maximum backing from the board and scouting networks this summer.

Dyche and Burnley continue to be a good fit. Both are at a stage where it's progression in terms of style that is required.

Can we play a slightly more adventurous style with a touch of flair and can Dyche show adaptability enough to tempt the bigger guns in the division.

I'm having faith as we brought in Defour and nearly Grosicki - are obviously looking in the right places now, hopefully they can get some much needed quality in. I think Dyche can obviously spot a player though, I don't think anyone would disagree that Heaton, Lowton, Ward and Hendrick have been superb this season. Others who have been superb for us, well maybe it's just been a touch too much for them in the PL but I've every faith that if the board back Dyhce he will bring in quality - after all, it's the gaffers reputation on the line.

If, as reported, Steve Parrish and his Board are locked in talks this evening discussing allardyce's replacement, I'd be interested to know what managers they are discussing. I can't readily see one listed on Paddy Power with current stock as high as Sean. While I get that our away record might spark concern, it's Palace. Neil Warnock, Ian Holloway, Alan Pardew, BFS, Dyche fits the Palace profile rather well. they tend to go for British managers.

Yes, we brought in the Belgian maestro- and a lot on here creamed themselves in the process. How many games did he complete ? Do you see him hanging around ? Did he ever look happy here ? How old is he ? 30 ? Long term signing for us ?
Nah, not convinced there's much in the way of an effective recruitment plan, certainly not for longer term. Most of the younger players we sign will never see the first team.
Will we have a player under 24 starting next season? Subsequent to the departure of Keane.

Based on what exactly? We survived very easily this season so what makes you think we have zero chance of surviving next year?
