Burnley loves Benedictine. (And photography)

Post by cricketfieldclarets » Wed May 24, 2017 6:12 pm

For football fans. Burnley folk. Benedictine lovers. And people interested in photography in general, my good friend Daniel Scanlin has produced his own photographic story of Burnleys unique love of Benedictine. Best of all its free to download the e version. Please take a look. He is a fantastic, artistic photographer who is trying to get awareness and recognition of his work. The physical copy is an amazing piece of work. E copy here

http://www.blurb.co.uk/b/7902951-b-u-r- ... ook=625343" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Apologies someone got their grubby mits on the book by looks of it when he passed it round the miners. :roll: :|

Many might know Daniel. And i think his dad comes on here. They have hayhursts camera shop in Nelson. Really nice lad and genuine clarets. He has tons of great pictures from down the years in and around Burnley. Hope you enjoy his work.

I presume this one word answer is meant to be a punchy, amusing response which is designed to give maximum impact. It may have been a good idea to spell the one word correctly.

My guests last night all refused Benny in favour of rum. I'm not sure whether they're nice people now. :/

Benedictine and Burnley are intertwined forever. It both serves as a unique WW1 remembrance and links past, present and future generations.
Long live this unique bond.

Great to see something that's unique and positive to Burnley being celebrated in a well presented way.

Fair play to the guy who's done it.

Good on him.

As a man who drinks a lot of Bene, which incidentally has 20 measures in a bottle, can someone answer what the D.O.M stands for.
The amount of Bene consumed on the Turf nowadays, could lead to BFC being the Worlds largest sellers of Bene soon.

Had to look that up...according to Wikipedia : "Every bottle of Bénédictine has the initials D.O.M. on the label, which stands for "Deo Optimo Maximo" ("To God, most good, most great"). This abbreviation is commonly used at the beginning of documents of the Benedictine Order as a short dedication of the work."

I bothered my local landlord in Kent to get a bottle, telling him it will go down a storm like it does in Burnley. He got two. I even bought a round of Benny and hots to start the party...I now have been threatened with being barred if I don't drink both bottles before Xmas.

Book is good.

Unsurprising that Crundale.
When I asked for a "whisky all-in" at the Timber Batts near you a few years ago, the landlord looked at me aghast and used hot water from the tap rather than boiling a kettle!
