Re: Dyche ------->Palace
so, I read the first five pages at the time, and jumped straight to this one. Is this STILL pure speculation in the press and nothing more than that? If so it remains a non-story.
As for the club making any statement, PR comes under my remit at work, and for a fortune 50, not a tinpot outfit. There not a snowball in hell's chance of any sensible organization saying anything at this point, even if there actually WAS something to the stories. No gain whatsoever, and it would merely feed speculation. CT is spot on above.

I don't see any benefit in it. If he goes then we find out soon enough and if he doesn't:kentonclaret wrote:The issue is that IF Dyche had talks with another club about taking over as their new manager should BFC make a statement saying that they have given permission for that to happen?
1) it potentially sours his relationship with the fans making a move to another club more likely; and
2) it advertises his availability making a move to another club more likely.

Re: Dyche ------->Palace
In this day of agents etc it is almost inconceivable to think that Dyche could go and have talks with Palace and nobody else know about it within the football world and not make it public - let alone profit from it by placing money on the outcome.
People are posting assuming that nobody within football's hierarchy talk to each other. If Dyche had talks with Palace every other PL club would know about it.

Re: Dyche ------->Palace
I find it astonishing that there's 18 pages on Dyche going to Palace, you lot must be very insecure about your own manager, when there's not one bit of evidence (apart from bookies odds) his even spoke to Palace let alone had an interview. As I said on here last week, Dyche's agent was asked if he'd be interested, and Palace were told his on holiday,that was over a week ago. That's as far as the interest in Dyche has gone. All the interviews have been done, and I'm told it will be Pellergrino who will be named manager. So stop worrying.

That'll do for me.
I was told SD was interested ( at least for a chat )
I'm glad you moved on, we need him more than you.

The problem with this thread SE25 is that too many posters hang to every word from the bookies as gospel.SE25 wrote:I find it astonishing that there's 18 pages on Dyche going to Palace, you lot must be very insecure about your own manager, when there's not one bit of evidence (apart from bookies odds) his even spoke to Palace let alone had an interview. If Paddy Power says Dyche is now favourite it's 'Oh my God, he's going'
I imagine some of the aforementioned also throw good money after bad at the bookies.

Since the original post other articles have been posted from the Croydon press claiming that Sean Dyche is on a shortlist of managers to be interviewed and that, having just returned from holiday, Sean Dyche is still keen on the job at Crystal Palace.

Classic mix up this. Sky Sports reports have led to a rush of bets being placed on Pellegrini making him second favourite to Pellegrino. I wonder if someone did this on purpose.CombatClaret wrote:SSN reporting Palace in talks with Manuel Pellegrini who is keen to make a return to English Football.

Or, is the real question as to whether Sean Dyche will remain Strong and Stable for another season in the PL with the Clarets?

For a bunch of presenters that can't tell Barnsley from Burnley I think you are giving them too much credit.

I'm hearing each of them has got shorter odds of becoming CP's new manager than Burnley's Sean Dyche.dsr wrote:What are the odds on Pellegrina, Pellegrine, and Pellegrinu?

Re: Dyche ------->Palace
Sean Dyche has unfortunately returned to become the bookies favourite again. This doesn't seem to be going away.

It does fit with a lack of transfer activity or even links..dermotdermot wrote:Sean Dyche has unfortunately returned to become the bookies favourate again. This doesn't seem to be going away.
Re: Dyche ------->Palace
Monk was favourite, but that means nothing because the betting market was wrong. Hodgson was favourite, but that means nothing because the betting market was wrong. Ranieri was favourite, but that means nothing because the betting market was wrong. De Boer was favourite, but that means nothing because the betting market was wrong. Pellegrini, Pellegrino, or both were favourite, but that means nothing because the betting market was wrong. Dyche was favourite four times, but than means nothing becasue the betting market was wrong. And now Dyche is favourite again. PANIC! PANIC! THE SKY IS FALLING!dermotdermot wrote:Sean Dyche has unfortunately returned to become the bookies favourite again. This doesn't seem to be going away.
(Let's just hope the betting market might be wrong. It's been wrong before, you know.)

My feeling is dyche to palace and your board to try to appoint his number 2 as manager, Ian woan?

I knew about Burnley when rovers were premier league, and I know about Burnley now rovers are league 1. I've followed both since 1991 but supported just the one.dsr wrote:What do you know about Premier League football, Saxo? Do you still keep in touch?

Glad to hear it. Of course, it's pretty easy to keep in touch with Premier news because the papers are full of it. You'll keep us posted about life in the third division, will you? Not much in the papers, I'm afraid.Saxoman wrote:I knew about Burnley when rovers were premier league, and I know about Burnley now rovers are league 1. Just look in the telegraph or listen to radio Lancashire, the bigger club always takes precedence via the those 2 outlets, regardless of division..dsr wrote:Glad to hear it. Re: Dyche ------->Palace
Palace have taken so long that two of them are in the top three in the betting for Southampton. I bet both teams want the same one.
Re: Dyche ------->Palace
Yes, that's why we need you to keep us in touch with Blackburn. Because with you being behind Burnley, Preston, and Fleetwood, we'll have to listen quite hard to get to Blackburn. Do you think you'll still be bigger than Blackpool next season?Saxoman wrote:Just look in the telegraph or listen to radio Lancashire, the bigger club always takes precedence via the those 2 outlets, regardless of division..

You obviously don't pay attention to those outlets and your fans this season just ended, moaning about rovers getting preferential coveragedsr wrote:Yes, that's why we need you to keep us in touch with Blackburn. Even the previously biased local media are going to struggle to enthuse about a going-nowhere, struggling skint little Division Three club with tiny crowds who are heading for footballing oblivion.
