Hopefully, blessing in disguise IMO. We would finally rid our club of the horrible hoofball disease. I hate the fact we have now stained our club by accepting this football. The PL is watched worldwide, we will be stuck with the stereotypical hoofball rubbish club tag for a very long time.

What would you do with all your time KRBFC if you couldn't spend your waking hours posting about Dyche??

Then let's hope he takes the palace gig even though I'd be very surprised if it was of any interest to SD.

There is also a strong possibility that Southampton may be in for him - though the new Chinese owners may want a bigger name

There is absolutely no way Southampton would ever employ Dyche, his football is too naff they wouldn't accept it like our fans do.

I can see Dyche at Palace to be honest. They've had Pulis, Warnock and Allardyce in recent times so success and results obviously rank higher than attractive football for their decision makers.

That link seems pretty tenuous at the moment though.

I think KRBFC will get his wish, unfortunately Dyche will leave Burnley this summer,or in the January of 2018 when the management merry go round begins.

Serious question do you believe if a club like Palace or Southampton came in for him he should be ambitious and take the opportunity to manage a club with a bigger budget and more potential or should he be loyal and appreciate the backing and trust he has from our board and pretty much every burnley fan?

The reason I ask is cos I'd really like to know peoples honest thoughts as if we wait till after the event most people will just adapt their opinion to suit the outcome I.e. If he leaves people will defend his lack of loyalty as ambition and if he stays people will defend is lack of ambition as loyalty

Surely you have to think one way or another so be brave and say what you believe. I'll happily clarify my position as I hope he stays but if he chooses to go I would mot blame him as this is his career and not a lifelong love affair with our club and if he thinks the move is right for him he should take it

That's a good question.

At this moment in time I'd rather he stayed aswell as we are in a precarious position regarding our premier league tenure. Any upheaval would likely threaten that unless we opened the cheque book to bring in the right man and his team and support him accordingly.

I wouldn't blame Dyche in the slightest for moving on to a more established premier league team with greater financial clout.

If he was to leave for palace I'd rather it was done sooner rather than later for our benefit in summer recruitment.

Common sense dictates that SD will leave eventually, but not until he's taken us as far as he can. I don't think that's been reached yet. Another season of safety, then a push for a top half finish. Do that and he can write his own ticket to practically anywhere
Do that and he would go with my eternal gratitude.

I think we're going to get this every time a EPL manager loses his job. Sooner or later he will go, it's just the nature of the beat. Whether it's Palace or Southampton should the job become available only time will tell. Another possible job on the horizon is at Arsenal. All I can say if there's legs to this story and I think there very well might be, the sooner it's resolved the better as we have a big summer's recruitment ahead.

Pure speculative journalism. I read one article where he would go to Palace and then sign Heaton, Mee and Ings. Total pie in the sky bullshit.

I hope I'm wrong but this might well happen. In Dyche's interviews he often speaks about the realities for our club which suggests that Prem survival might be as far as he can take us. He's an ex Millwall player who knows South London well, it's nearer home , it's more money and the level of expectation is about right for a manager of Dyche's ability. Even Fat Sam, who rarely thinks of anyone but himself, was full of praise for Sean in April.
Uncomfortable facts and I hope I'm wrong.

I'm very ambivalent about this. I suspect we will go down next year, not because of any anti-Sean sentiment but because we had a shocking run (2 wins in 16), we face the notorious second season syndrome, one maybe two huge clubs have come up and we are set to lose big players (none bigger than Keane as his absence showed).

A new manager would give us new impetus and give us license to utilise the flair and pace we now have in a different way. Saying that, Sean has a formula now and it is not inconceivable he could keep us up again, especially given the healthy finances.

So I am very relaxed about it.

I posted on the Allardyce leaving page that this could be a potential opportunity for Sean Dyche that he would take seriously.
Obviously depends on whether Palace are indeed interested but the reason I think that Sean will be on their wish-list is the fact that they have had the rug pulled from under them by Allardyce.
They were expecting him to sign up for another 2 years and are looking for stability. Dyche is one of the longest serving managers in the league and how can anyone not be impressed with what he had built at Burnley?
Despite the high turnaround of managers at Selhurst, its not all been their doing - remember Dougie Freedman (foolishly) left for Bolton, they didn't sack him. For me, Dyche fits the mould - yes they have flair players, but it wasn't until Allardyce got them defending properly and playing with shape that they turned their form around. Dyche can offer this, and contrary to what some people think on here, will be fine working with their 'flair' players. He never had a problem with Danny Ings and Zaha, for example, has shown a big improvement in his stats since Allardyce took over. Plus Palace have the recent memory of Dyche turning them over on their own pitch in a pivotal match, the watching media gave us a lot of kudos for that performance. After Pulis, Pardew, BFS, Dyche seems a very credible candidate, and more so than any of those other managers linked.
Mike Garlick has painted an optimistic outlook this week and no doubt passed those assurances on to Dyche and co, he has autonomy here whereas Steve Parish comes across as a bit of a meddler. I think that will be worth something to Dyche. Building an entire training complex in his own image is another factor that he would find very difficult to walk away from.
'It's not a forever story' though' - we've been fed that line quite consistently. The bottom line is Palace have a stronger squad, are more established at PL level and will have a bigger wage structure. In the longer term of Dyche's career - who knows where his ambitions really lie? - they could be viewed as a progressive move. Then there's the London factor, always easier to attract players and high quality loans. I think its essential we keep him here for at least another season to give us the chance to establish ourselves in the Premier League. The culture and intensity to Dyche and his coaching staff has clearly been the bedrock for our recent success...it would be difficult to expect a successor to walk in and hit the ground running with that.

The thing he has at Burnley is effectively a job for life and the biggest budget in our history, but at Palace he has a bigger budget, a better squad and much more importantly (as has already been mentioned) fans who have accepted Pulis and Big Sam.

Might be a season too early, but I bet he's tempted to give it a go if they ask for him.

One of the worrying aspects for me is the quality and availability of managers linked with the Crystal Palace vacancy. The top 3 in the betting are Silva, Mancini and Ranieri and you have to ask whether any of these 3 are seriously interested in the job at Selhurst Park. If not, SD is almost favourite for the job by default being just 4/1 on Betfair.

Dyche ...'keeping the club in the Premier League for the first time in their history'.

I don't like this kind of writing implying that Dyche is the only person to keep us in the top league in our near 130 year history.

Palace and Southampton? Potential for what? A top 10 finish? They're hardly miles ahead of us and we've only just managed a first season of survival! It's only the clubs that finished in the top seven this season that currently have more potential than us, there was a sixteen point gap between Everton in seventh and Southampton in eighth, who finished just six points above us. There's nothing in either clubs recent history to suggest they can do that much better.

As opposed to Crystal Palace? Premier survival is all they have been playing for as well. The difference is, they've been doing it longer.

My worry is that Sean is at the highest point in his career so far and he's been praised universally. If he stays on another season and fails to keep us up, all that would disappear. Would clubs like Palace and similar have any interest in a manager who had presided over a relegation have an interest? I think it's unlikely.
That's not to say that we will be relegated but Dyche will be under no illusions about the challenges next season.

I have a vague recollection of Dyche 'presiding' over a relegation in the past, must look up the history and check...

Replace the word 'another' with 'until the end of' and you have Owen Coyle's 2010 thinking. Looked how well that worked out.

Dyche is light years ahead of Coyle as a manager. I don't think he'd fail at another club.

It's only the clubs that finished in the top seven this season that currently have more potential than us, there was a sixteen point gap between Everton in seventh and Southampton in eighth, who finished just six points above us. There's nothing in either clubs recent history to suggest they can do that much better.

Southampton played Inter Milan in the Europa League a little over six months ago and Palace were in last year's FA Cup Final.

C'mon man. Take the Claret-Tinted specs off.

Aye, and Hull were in the final three seasons ago. Are they bigger than us?
