Do we get any money from Spurs for a Trippier England cap?

Assume Keane is definitely injured then, and not DEFINITELY leaving and what not.
Although he is probably leaving.

The fact Gibson is in and Keane is out surely shows he is injured and unavailable.

Or Southgate is looking at options.
Gibson deserves a chance, not sure why Jones is in there, he hasn't played much has he?

He does, but he wouldn't get picked ahead of Keane. Rest of the squad Tripps apart who deserves his chance isn't a looking at options squad.

Re: England: Heaton in, Keane out
I like Gibson, but he doesn't have the experience.
Jones has the experience, he's just not as good as Keane.
We can't be wrapping him in cotton wool until his future is certain, as Keane would kick off about harming his prospects. Must be an injury.
Chouged to bits for Tripps, well deserved.
Seems daft carrying 4 keepers, and I do fear for Heatons place. I'd put him top of the list, but I doubt Southgate would

Tyrone Marshall (Lancashire Telegraph) has tweeted saying:
"Although not part of the squad, Keane will report to St George's Park for a day during the England build-up"

Re: England: Heaton in, Keane out
Heaton is unlucky in as much as we have four very capable goalkeepers at our disposal. I'd suggest that he's currently ahead of Butland due to his injury woes and Forster on form. However he'll need to move if he wants to be England's number one. If he was playing for Liverpool or even Everton he'd get much more of a chance to prove his worth. However, we need him much more than England IMO, so I hope he stays with us and concentrates on his club career!!
Absolutely delighted for Trippier. Just the latest ex-Claret to get a call up. If it weren't for dreadful bad luck over the past few years wecould actually be looking at an England squad containing Heaton, Trippier, Keane, Jay-Rod and Ings! We're clearly doing something right.

Think once Butland is fully fit he will overtake Hart and become England's No1.

Re: England: Heaton in, Keane out
That selection of midfielders is not great. Can't see England doing much in a tournament with options like that. Lingard, Chamberlain and Livermore are fairly average at that level, and both Dier and Lallana aren't going to light any fires either despite being good players. Sterling's improving and I still think could make an impact for England, and Dele Alli is a real talent.
Dele Alli (Tottenham), Eric Dier (Tottenham), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), Jesse Lingard (Man Utd), Jake Livermore (West Brom), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Raheem Sterling (Man City)
MEH.

Re: England: Heaton in, Keane out
Slightly worrying about Keane. What is his injury?
Absolutely delighted about Tripps. Just goes to show that when Burnley fans identify one of theirs as a future England cap - they are usual right.
Southgate must like him as there are 3 right backs in the squad, which is not normally the case.

Re: England: Heaton in, Keane out
There's no big players or egos in that squad. They're mostly young, similar aged players which I see as a good thing. You don't need to have the best squads of talent to be successful you just need to have a great bond. I think that team will. It's not the best team but will become our most successful in years imho

Certainly one of the poorest England squads in my 30 years of watching them!

So is this the squad get together where Southgate says to Gibson "if you want more chances of this you need to be in the Premier League not the Championship next season"

Would Gibson be a good replacement for Keane if he moves o pastures new!Chester Perry wrote:So is this the squad get together where Southgate says to Gibson "if you want more chances of this you need to be in the Premier League not the Championship next season"

"Would Gibson be a good replacement for Keane if he moves o pastures new!" Without doubt. The only problem is I would have thought Gibson would be looking for a similar move to a bigger club.

Re: England: Heaton in, Keane out
Are England not selecting Keane as they don't want him to get injured before a big money move?
Tybfc would surely know.

Great news about Tripper. You could also add Charlie Austin and Gary Cahill (although a little tenuous).
We have truly been spoilt over the last 10 years.
Here is my (ex)Burnley/England team of current players.
Heaton
Trippier Cahill Keane Mee
Cork Barton Marney
Ings Austin Rodriguez

Trippier
Called up to England squad. Not before time. Another example of what young players who want to get regular football can achieve by coming to Burnley to develop.
Hopefully when trying to sign players over the summer call ups for players like Trippier, Keane, Ings, Rodriguez, Heaton etc are highlighted.
We could have some 5 aside team there!

Pleased for Trippier. While I don't think he's as good as Walker, Spurs and England are blessed at right back, if not any other position.

Keane is a young ,talented and versatile player . It is a mistake not to include him in the England's squad
