In very different ways both superb players for Burnley - Barton the most influential and driven player I`ve ever seen for the Clarets. Kightly...just something about him and loved his directness and positivity (even when he knew he didn`t fit the framework anymore). Both a pleasure to watch.

Yes the Good Friday goal was a cracker and helped us on our journey! Joeys free kick is in my memory bank... Same as Bryan o Neil's all those years ago against man utd.

Both important players in their own right in our recent journey.

Some tremendous Championship performances from Kightly whilst on loan from Stoke and then following him signing for the Clarets. Bit of a disappointment that he then fell out of favour. For me, just as valuable a squad member as Boyd or Arfield though he did offer something different. With players of his calibre I'm sure that Burton will have far more success next season.

Very well said in the write up. Both were very influential and it's hard to know how to replace them. Joey especially will be missed, just hope we can find another with his grit and drive.

Absolutely agree, I really liked Kightly. I thought he was our best player for the early part of last season he was harshly treated to be dropped but it worked for us. He had some cracking games for us in the PL too, away at Stoke he was excellent. Same at OT and away at Newcastle.

Kightly will be a very good signing for a Championship club. I hope Burton can afford his wages.
