Can we get Ings back on loan next season?
As above guys what do you reckon our chances might be?
Would be very happy with his link up play up top, for me that has been our weak spot this season as we've punted far to many balls directly into Gray which he hasn't controlled at all well.
If Ings was in the hole or just off Vokes it would work much better.
Are Liverpool still friendly with us after the transfer itself?

Probably less friendly about the game time that Flanno got.

We could do a lot worse for a lot more money, depends where he is in the pecking order but I doubt he'll make their first team anytime soon....

Had too many bad injuries now as Danny , We cannot afford to have other clubs players convalescing here such as Flanno.

He probably wouldn't want to come back here as he might see it as a step back. Would have him back in a flash should he be available though, knows the manager, system and players, bit of a no brainer really. As long as he approaching full fitness that is....

We play a different system to the one Danny played in. We don't have Trips for a start. I think we need to move on from ex players if we can and find new heroes.

I think he will understand a step-back would be beneficial to him in order to get back to proper fitness. Keano bit the bullet to leave United to go to a smaller club, and now look at him.Giftonsnoidea wrote:He probably wouldn't want to come back here as he might see it as a step back

Re: Can we get Ings back on loan next season?
His goalscoring feats in the Championship then the Premier League got him a move to Liverpool. Injuries have curtailed that progress. A few goals with us might just be the kick start his career needs. Certainly wouldn't be disappointed seeing him here for a while.

I don't care where the players have played or play, if they improve us and SD thinks they are good enough, 'til do for me!

I wouldn't be obverse to Danny Ings on a season loan providing he is here pre season for a full fitness assessment.

We survived without Ings this time.
I'm sure we can do it again.
Anyone know when he's likely to recover from his knee injury?
He might not want to come back either, he will attract attention from.bigger clubs.

Re: Can we get Ings back on loan next season?
These types of comments always make me laugh. What is wrong with wanting someone who has already preformed well for our club and is at a similar level to us? It's not like he's suggesting re-signing Marvin Bartley is it.joey13 wrote:And the obsession with re signing former players continues
Ings has connections in the area, he's a fan favorite and he's a damn good player if he's fit. Did you throw a hissy fit when we signed Keane after his short spell with Blackburn? Who they've played for is irrelevant, if the evidence suggests they are good enough then I'm happy to sign them, the evidence from Ings previous time with us would suggest he IS good enough, it's his injuries we don't know about.

Re: Can we get Ings back on loan next season?
I wouldnt worry to much about his injury record the way Dyche uses loan signings. Ings would have offered as much this season on one leg than the striker we actually had on loan did

Yeah if only we'd have used the loan opportunity to sign someone who could challenge our existing strikers

Re: Can we get Ings back on loan next season?
I don't think it's as much an obsession as being a known quantity. We all know Ings (or for that matter Rodriguez) are better than what we currently have so it's only an obvious thing to mention former players.
For what it's worth, I'd have him back in a flash. Terrific footballer. Pace. Technical ability. Creativity.
I don't think he'll play for Liverpool as I'm sure they'll strengthen further so he'll probably need to look elsewhere for first team football so why not here?

Re: Can we get Ings back on loan next season?
He was good for us let's move on. The amount of serious injuries he's had for someone so young, I'll be amazed if he makes much of a career a premier league level.
Ok, he might play a few games but can't see anyone taking a risk on him.
Same goes for Austin, very good player but a liability with injuries.

Re: Can we get Ings back on loan next season?
I could see quite a few of the teams in the bottom half fancying him regardless of his injuries. Looked likely to break into the Liverpool team before his injury and it's a shame it didn't work for him. Seems like there is bad blood for a few because he left, admittedly not in this post. For the record I think he's young enough, and has enough desire to recover. If he's anywhere near the standard he was he will be good enough as a different option for our team. We've certainly missed someone to link the play as he could.Walt wrote:He was good for us let's move on. Putting my tin hat on but I'm matey with a lad who knows him quite well from Crow Wood, he's convinced that should a move to us arise, Danny would be interested. Maybe this sounds harsher but he also thinks that should he return and play well he'd look to leave soon after. He is ambitious with his career, but he's smart enough to know he's not going to crack the Liverpool team as it is. He certainly won't let loyalty stand in the way though and does see us as a stepping stone (admittedly he has fond memories here), but I'm not sure that would concern me providing we got him playing. I do understand why it would bother others.
Should it happen, let's let the medical team decide?
Re: Can we get Ings back on loan next season?
I don't think he will have the same burst of pace so it's a no from me.

Robbie Blake
Joey Barton
If Ings comes back and plays anything like those two its really a no brainer, offers something different also.
We know he has been quality for us obv depending on his fitness issues/level if he's on the shortlist...

Is it four times he has suffered a terrible knee injury? I'd be worried if he was our only option but if it is in addition to other alternatives then I'd consider it.

Re: Can we get Ings back on loan next season?
We could do a pay per play deal like Darren Anderton
Re: Can we get Ings back on loan next season?
I still can't believe we didn't, either, take Spurs' 13m offer or hold out for the same from Liverpool, when it obvious he wanted to go.
Re: Can we get Ings back on loan next season?
I might be wrong but I don't think the deal was concrete from Spurs.i believe we kept him because there would have been more combined value in potentially staying up and getting a tribunal than him leaving at that point. Didn't do to bad considering how things have turned out.Diesel wrote:I still can't believe we didn't, either, take Spurs' 13m offer or hold out for the same from Liverpool, when it obvious he wanted to go.

Did no one seen the quality of stanislas when he was at turf moor? Gone from strength to strength at Bournemouth ..don't think he angled for a move either, not particularly injury prone No doubt he's ambitious also! Don't understand the love affairs with former injury prone players.

Re: Can we get Ings back on loan next season?
I'm guessing 3 at the back is the new trend?
Its been a variation of 4-5-1 changing to 4-3-3 when attacking for a while now so I suppose we were due a change.

Re: Can we get Ings back on loan next season?
No thanks, did he even kick a ball in the first team this season? How much football has he played over the last 2 years? Also imagine he will be on a hefty wage at Liverpool, that we would be expected to fund. Let him go Bournemouth he wants to get out.
Would rather see Jay Rod back here, even with his recent injury problems.

Not too worried about your coaching qualifications to be perfectly honest, they have absolutely no effect on the concerns I would have with that midfield
