Cissie Braithwaite RIP

Post by Herts Clarets » Thu Jun 01, 2017 12:37 pm

Just reading that Roy Barraclough,Alec Gilroy in Corrie and Cissie opposite Les Dawson's Ada Shufflebotham has died after a short illness. He was superb with Les Dawson.

Just for the board members that don't watch "Corrie"
Roy Barraclough has died. He was a versatile screen and stage actor
Alec Gilroy was a fictional character set in a fictional world which is watched by real people who would want to spend a portion of their lives staring at a box which depicts lives identical to theirs dramatised by actors who earn more than they will in their lives.

His partner was John Mundy, who you might remember from presenting Look North West in the 80's

Aged 81. Alec Gilroy was one of my favourite Corrie characters.

He was genius in his Cissie and Ada sketches with Les Dawson. He reminded me of so many old women that I used to see when I lived in Burnley.

Yes, I've lost number of the times trams have fallen on my house, planes have crashed in my back yard, my brother has shagged all of my wives who were also all related, brought up kids that turned out not to be mine, stolen babies that weren't mine, slept with members of my own family, been buried alive by my wife and the landlord of my local has come back from the dead three times.
