Lancashire League Cricket - T20

Post by Dressinggown » Sat Jun 10, 2017 1:08 am

Lowerhouse's stuttering start to the season continued at Centre Vale, Todmorden, last night.

Posting 108, the visitors were always going to struggle to restrict the Todmorden batting.

They, perhaps, were not expecting defeat with 10 overs left.

Todmorden professional, Kelly Smuts, produced a devastating display of power hitting. This was no slog-fest. Smashing flat sixes through the covers went along with those that went out of the ground over mid-wicket.

Smuts scored 84 from 37 balls. Worth the £3 entrance fee alone.

If he didn't break any windows then it doesn't count.

I think Burnley took 6 wickets for 10 runs when it looked like defeat.

They did - Nelson looked to be cruising to a comfortable win but Tripathi took 5 for 17 in 4 overs

Smuts' stats are ridiculously good this season. Tod have played a blinder getting him in.

I was talking to an Enfield played at a pre season friendly, who was cursing the fact Smuts brother had been called up. He claimed he would of been the best pro in the league by a mile.
I took it with a pinch of salt but he might of been right with how his brother has started.
