Hopefully nothing to do with West Brom's apparent U turn in the pursuit of Charlie Taylor.
Sounds like Taylor's demands are a bit rich for them.

Think it's more about they don't want to go to a tribunal because Leeds will be owed a fee.billyhamilton82 wrote:Hopefully nothing to do with West Brom's apparent U turn in the pursuit of Charlie Taylor.

and yet ONiell started him on the right in the recent WC match against Austria. He was awful and was quickly switched to the left and eventually replaced Ward at LWB.quoonbeatz wrote:he absolutely does not, ian.
he's spent his career playing on the left and we will waste him if we try and put him on the right.

Somebody was reporting on Twitter that Robertson had a medical on Saturday.
No idea on cost though but I'd imagine once add-ons etc are taken into account that we wouldn't be looking at less than about £10 million.

If Robertson had a medical at Burnley on Saturday would bookmakers still be offering odds of 11/10.
Re: Andrew Robertson betting odds...
Not happening. Bookies have us as 1/4 favourites to sign Taylor from Leeds and we know they're always right
Re: Andrew Robertson betting odds...
On Oddschecker the other day it had us and West Bromwich BOTH odds on to sign Charlie Taylor

Because we're incapable of doing a medical and signing a contract on the same day, therefore its still up in the air.kentonclaret wrote:If Robertson had a medical at Burnley on Saturday would bookmakers still be offering odds of 11/10.

I'd be chuffed to bits if we signed Charlie Taylor, but both quality players.

Nixon says we were close to agreeing Robertson fee yesterday morning but says its gone quiet now and doesn't know what the issue is. Says something along the lines of we're 'taking a bit too long on a couple of deals in the last 24 hours. Bit strange.'
Re: Andrew Robertson betting odds...
Surely not all from the Theresa Maynot school of negotiation?

Clubcall or whoever are saying we're back in for Charlie Taylor. Maybe we're leaking some stories to get Hull's arse in gear and accept our bid.

Re: Andrew Robertson betting odds...
I'm guessing if we're after a left back we have a list of a number of left back targets and enquire about ALL of them asking about availability and/or values. So maybe we have enquired about Bryan, Robertson, Taylor and a few other left backs...and their agents are just putting it out there. You'd be naive to think that we decide which left back we want and just go after one target.Reecey1987 wrote:Are we giving up on this fella ? I'm sure I read somewhere that SD had sat down with the necessary people and drawn up a list. Suggesting it's rare to get your first choice player, so I'd guess that list is quite long and we have our fingers in many pies.

Its going to be like FM where you suddenly find you've signed six left backs on pre-contract agreements.

I don't know what we'd have done as a club without 20 years of such unbridled passion.

Sounds like we could end up losing out on this guy for waiting to long . Now you can see why dyche might have been tempted to leave because he always ends up losing out on his top targets and also loses his best players

Nixon seems to think that our dithering on this deal could ultimately cost us

Nixon: "Robertson would go to Burnley in a heartbeat. But a lot of messing going on there".
I'd say I'm surprised, but then I'd be lying. Sometimes, it helps if you just pay the b*st*rd fee.

Exactly my point its so fustrating seeing us linked with very good players ones we know we can sign . And because of haggling for a couple of million we lose out then come end of the window were rushing aboutSGr wrote:Nixon: "Robertson would go to Burnley in a heartbeat.
