Unsurprisingly another rich person is allegedly conned and loses money.
Meanwhile other rich people use tax dodges and live happily ever after (until they get caught).
No sympathy for any of them.

By my reckoning, Chris Sutton, Brad Friedel, Keith Gillespie and Colin Hendry have all now been declared Bankrupt... and now Shearer going down this path, whatever the rights or wrongs of it are..

Re: Alan Shearer sues advisers for £9 million damages
Don't be silly. These people earn large amounts of money because they have a talent that we want to see.
If you earn large amounts of money you need to put it somewhere. Usually you get expert advise for this. Even ordinary people looking for a pension scheme would do well to get independent advise. That advise is no guarantee that things will work out well. The question in Shearer's case is whether the advise was in good faith, or was in some way fraudulent.

I take it that the advisers he is claiming against are the fools that advised him to join Blackburn instead of United?

Greedy b.....d . cant stand the P...k. All he can throw out are negatives when he shows his ugly, miserable face on MOTD. Never gave praise to the clarets, even when we deserved recognition. Hope the arrogant T..t looses his case and ends up bankrupt. RIP Rovers lol

An agreement has now been reached and Shearer has accepted a settlement.

If it sounds too good to be true it ALWAYS is.
Some Singers used these investments knowing they would fail to offset gains
Why didn't he get a second opinion?
Why didn't he just use me? Just get honest down to earth advce and get regular reviews not rocket science.
But if you try for big gains you can get big losses and that is why the road "Alan Shearer Way " leads to nowhere!

Re: Alan Shearer sues advisers for £9 million damages
I'm on Shearer's side here.
He must have been flogged a UCIS investment possibility on the basis that it offered a 'smooth return with limited risk' and then poof all the monies gone.
If anyone is greedy in this venture it's the adviser who will have received high commissions on the investment.
My vanilla approach may be 'boring' to some but I've not lost a client 1p due to investment failure.

Still the greatest goalscorer in prem history, primarily wearing a halved shirt..
Re: Alan Shearer sues advisers for £9 million damages
Scored more at Newcastle and played a lot more games for them. So not primarily.

More prolifically..Walt wrote:Scored more at Newcastle and played a lot more games for them. So not primarily.

You probably won't, however, he wouldn't even figure in the top ten Rovers players I have seen.Saxoman wrote:I'll never see a better player for rovers ever again, may as well pack in now..

You are the fan -- I am an observer who first saw Rovers play in 1952 but saw the light and went with my dad to watch a proper team, however, I used to go to watch Rovers with my mum and saw some very good players -- now you see if you can name any because there were some good players around between the late 50s and late 60s.Saxoman wrote:Go on..

Re: Alan Shearer sues advisers for £9 million damages
Hence the reason for stating that Shearer would not be in the top ten players I have seen, although I must admit that, seeeing as you mention him, Elton John is still a decent player .................on a piano.Saxoman wrote:You must be Elton johns age..
