Similar:
Both like to run in behind the defence and also get in the box when the ball is out wide. Jay Rod also doesn't take as many shots to score compared to Gray. Gray is also quite small and so struggles to score headed goals, whereas Jay is 6ft tall

I messaged his dad on Twitter, not that it sheds any new light on the situation, if there even is a situation but as it's on topic... Obviously he wasn't going to fully answer but I asked if he'd be interested.
His response was if you don't ask you won't know. Also, as a family of Burnley fans they'd love to see him come home.

He would be a very good signing for us but I can't see it happening unless we drastically change our wage structure.

I bet his dad and family gets some good returns from the bookies when he does find out his agreed next club

I'm sure they will. You'd be a fool not to use inside info in my opinion.

In terms of shots to goals, Gray is our best striker and better than Rodriguez going by last season.
Gray 47 shots 9 goals. Giving 5.22 shots per goal.
Vokes 57 shots 10 goals. Giving 5.7 shots per goal.
Rodriguez 33 shots 5 goals. Giving 6.6 shots per goal.
Barnes 45 shots 6 goals. Giving 7.5 shots per goal.

Other than the potential ban for Rodriguez under the FA betting rules.

It will be happening all the time, I'd be very surprised if it wasn't

Very probably. The rules are quite specific about it though
Where a Participant provides to any other person any information relating to football which the Participant has obtained by virtue of his or her position within the game and which is not publicly available at that time, the Participant shall be in breach of this Rule where any of that information is used by that other person for, or in relation to, betting.

So the talk I have on this is as follows, you can believe or not its up to you.
Jays people have had 3 meetings with the club.
Jay has offered a pay cut on his current salary to come back.
Burnley are not willing to pay him our current limit.

He's on 60k a week, our top earners are on 35k a week.

I would suspect our top wage will go up this year, probably to about £50k per week absolute maximum.
Maybe worth a drop of £10k to him to be back home with his family.

Not much point having a limit if you aren't going to pay It!

I was not told any figures.
I can only guess as we all can why they will not pay the amount he wants.

Very risky to pay him 50k a week on a 3 or 4 year deal, when in all honesty he could have a 3 year with us, similar to his last 3, and that would be a disaster for us as a club.

Agree! We simply can't be giving a contract at that money over 3/4 years with his injury record.

He is fine and dandy and if he is not, the medical detail will be on full view for this to be known beforehand.

he's been fit for the majority of this season, the reason he hasn't played is Puell
