Lancashire League 18th June

Post by Hopey » Sun Jun 18, 2017 9:51 pm

Ben Heap decided this weekend was the one to smash a few club records. Not content on being the first Lowerhouse player to get a Twenty20 ton (and his first Lowerhouse one at the same time), Ben opened the batting today and finished with the highest individual innings by a Lowerhouse batsmen ever.

Ben beat Tommy Shutts record from 1905 of 173*. Ben hit 175 off 148 balls with 18 fours and 6 sixes. Spectators watched as Ben passed milestone after milestone and he helped the House to their highest total ever of 334 off 50 overs.

House beat Great Harwood

I only mentioned earlier today in the 20/20 thread that i hoped Bens century on Friday was the beginning of him hitting form.

Think he has hit form alright! A stunning innings..helped by a flat track and a very fast outfield..not to mention some generous bowling. A magnificent achievement and great to watch. When Ben plays well House usually win.

Clitheroe and Darwen are doing very well.
Great Harwood not so much.
