Re: KRBFC has a question
Well in that case in the under 20 squad we had the same number as Man city and in the under 21's we have the same as Man utd
Re: KRBFC has a question
Still didn't answer my question, I don't know how many Man Utd players are at the u21 event (playing for any nation, not just England)FulledgeClaret wrote:Well in that case in the under 20 squad we had the same number as Man city and in the under 21's we have the same as Man utd

Re: KRBFC has a question
I am hazarding a guess at 0.
For the Under 20s there were only five European clubs that qualified. Of those there were Germany whose young talent is very rarely transferred abroad due to the German FA wanting to keep talent in house. Likewise Italy whose talent very rarely move on, not just from a young age but very insular much like our own players. France also have started retaining their players until a little bit older and when there value is at a premium. At present only 2 players of their squad play abroad, both of which are in Germany. Portuguese talent is hovered up by the main 2/3 clubs in the country:
Benfica - 8 players
Sporting CP - 5 players
Porto - 4 players
Really that leaves just the English side and as we all know our standards have been very low and with the level we were at CAT 3 we were never going to attract players that would be in this side. Hopefully that will change over the next 5 years.
U21s - Again we know we have not had a good scouting network abroad and if we did it wouldn't have been to identify young cheap talent. You need a decent structure in place first before moving to the ones for the future. When we do have a decent set up it will be for identifying players that can affect change now not in a few years time.
I don't know the point of your post but I would like to think if the question is asked in 4 yrs time that things may have moved on for us a little and we may be able to answer the question with 1 or 2.

Re: KRBFC has a question
As a response to what is clearly a loaded question designed to make the club look bad, I would ask,
How many Burnley or ex Burnley players have featured in the England senior squad in the last 5 years?

Why would I ask a question if I knew the answer? Dunno why you're being arsey because I asked a question that many didn't know the answer to (yourself included).BertiesBeehole wrote:Neither do you

Re: KRBFC has a question
I said that only five European teams qualified (don't know if you trying to be facetious). Due to it being a World cup it means that countries from all around the world are entered on a quota basis. Now other than Penny and Guerrero who have played for us I doubt we would really have a player from the South American contingent likewise all the other continents with the possible exception of New Zealand where we have had one or two players but after looking none at present in their squad. Which really just leaves the European sides.KRBFC wrote:The point of my post was a question, I, like you was guessing 0 but wasn't sure. Its been proven on here by Tony himself that KRBFC is a Burnley fan.
Tony even castigated him for the way he constantly whines about the club, stating his now departed Grandad wouldn't approve of the way he behaves.

Yet you know how good a Spanish U21 international is, but don't know if there are Burnley players in the England U21/U20 sides.

I know there are no Burnley players in the England u20/u21 sides, that wasn't the question I asked. There are many more nations involved at both tournaments other than England. To be fair I have watched Malaga play more times than I have our youth team/development team.Bin Ont Turf wrote:Yet you know how good a Spanish U21 international is, but don't know if there are Burnley players in the England U21/U20 sides.

I asked if we had ANY players at either tournament, whether they played for Hong Kong, Venzeuela or San Marino it doesn't matter, the question was
"how many players did we have at the tournaments"
NOT
"how many English players did we have at the tournaments"
It really isn't hard to understand the difference between the two although I understand not everyone on here has the brain required so ill cut you some slack.

I asked a pretty reasonable question...... I didnt watch either tournament, I dont know who qualified, im not sure how the question is deemed so controversial. Posters didnt understand the question, I never asked how many English players we had there.Clarinetclaret wrote:You really are the village idiot without a village. Re: KRBFC has a question
The answer was so obviously none. Nobody who reads this board or this website would have any doubt that we have no players currently involved in major international finals; because of course it would be widely publicised on here, both main board and messageboard, if we did. You read this board, you know how reliable and detailed is the information provided, therefore you knew before you asked how many players we had at these finals.KRBFC wrote:I asked a pretty reasonable question...... And if you already knew the answer, then your "question" was by way of making a point, not a request for information. QED.

Ok so if the answer is 0 then why has it taken all these replies to receive an answer. It wasnt a dig at anyone, just a question I had after watching the England u21 game.dsr wrote:The answer was so obviously none.
